Too many Apple products are releasing this month! I'll be picking up both the iPad Mini 8 and M6 MacBook. For the iPad Mini 8, Mark Gurman said Apple tested the iPad for both 60hz and 120hz; thus, there is a high chance we see a 120hz OLED iPad Mini 8!! 🤯🫨

🚨Update on the iPhone DUO fiasco. I ordered the iPhone DUO through both Apple’s website (within 5-7 mins of pre-orders opening) and then my phone carrier. T-Mobile said to expect the iPhone DUO to deliver earlier than November 4th and targeted for October 28th to Nov 3rd. I will keep my Apple pre-order as backup. So let’s see 🫡

These are the most recent GB7 testings for both the iPhone DUO and iPhone 18 Pro Max. It seems my theory stands correct, the smaller VC cooling and Titanium frame are slightly holding back the performance of the A20 Pro in the DUO. DUO is iPhone19,4 and 18 Pro Max is iPhone19,7.
Ps: Yes, I am aware the 18 Pro Max can achieve a higher peak score and most likely the DUO.

REDMAGIC 12 Pro seems to be the only device capable of handling the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 to its full potential. Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, iQOO 16, OnePlus 16, etc have all failed to showcase the performance gains Qualcomm promised. According to GB7 and 3DMark, so far SD8EEG6 = SD8G5 with the exception of the amazing REDMAGIC 12 Pro!

I finally get my hands on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 next week; but as of now what I am seeing from other reviewers regarding the performance is disheartening. Here are the performance results from the latest iQOO 16; again, housing the S8EEG6. I think Qualcomm might be solely focusing on efficiency and performance per watt. What are your thoughts?

Apple continues to miss the mark with the iPad Mini series. Instead of giving the Mini 8 a 120hz display we are still getting 60hz in 2026! The A20 Pro is more powerful than the M4 chip in terms of performance per watt; the iPad Mini 8 also has a higher TDP threshold than the iPhone Pro models; thus, with 120hz display and small size, Apple could have released a legit gaming device that could outright beat the REDMAGIC Astra 2 or Lenovo Legion tablet. đź«

Further confirmation that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is falling behind the competition this year. Dimensity 9600 and Apple’s A20 Pro is ahead in “benchmarks.” Obviously we all know benchmarks don’t always translate to actual gaming experience when consider optimization and so forth. Next year will be interesting to see how Qualcomm responds. 👀

Apple has finally surpassed Qualcomm this year as the A20 Pro is beating the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in performance per watt in generally both CPU and GPU benchmarks. Moreover, the SD-8EG6 is a reference device so actual performance will mostly be lower in retail units. I can’t wait to test next month…👀
