It's been a Great! Week of spending time in the shop with my dad doing what we love to do. It might just be a throw away 1966 Corvair parts car that was headed for the crusher built from cheap eBay parts and leftover junk from the Rats Nest...... But the memories and experiences this GM Freak has already given us are worth more than money can ever buy.
My niece practicing her welds & learning new ones (that the trade School didn't teach her) on this thing landed her, her 1st full-time Welding Job! This is more than a car, it was her trade School, diploma, and resume all in one.
Yeah..... these are more than just Hot Rods or funny looking vehicles. It's a way of life that builds you and others up along with something to get around town in.

The Quick Story of the $5 BareRose.
When we signed papers on this property we did what all new home owners do, and went out in search of things to now make it ours.
On the "Dead & Dying" discount rack at Lowes I found this "Stick In A Pot"..... yeah it wasn't much, but it was only 5 bucks so I said what the heck.
Then we went to a local Nursery and bought 2 more Beautiful Rose 🌹 bushes for $150 each..... when your name is BareRose (yeah that's my name) you kinda have a thing for Roses. Well..... 1 of those didn't survive the winter and the other only blooms once a year..... but that cheap $5 throw away Rose I pulled out of the gardening junkyard blooms all year long, and out lives everything no matter what.
Yeah ......
...... It might not be the best looking Rose out there, but it sure is my favorite.

Have any of you seen this before?
On a whim I decided to plant Basil outside the house and have been harvesting it all spring and summer (nothing compares to fresh Basil) and then this happened.
I never knew they flowered and when they do they release an EXTREME scent that's filled my entire back porch with just that 1 tiny plant. And Mosquitos don't like it .... So I've had fewer of those little vampires this year.
I don't know, something different and kinda cool that I thought I'd share

Took an '85 Chevy S10 parts truck to the Scrap Recycle along with other left over scrap metal totaling 1 ton. Got a whopping $68 dollars.
Then I went to SoCo Steel and bought the pieces to build the Firewall in the Corvair..... These 5 pieces came to just under $200 with my shop discount.
What a day.........
