I grew up in a tiny village deep in rural Japan —
so remote that only a few dozen people lived there.

My grandparents' house was surrounded by ancient
forest. As a child, I fished in clear streams,
chased dragonflies, and hunted for beetles beneath
moss-covered logs.

The forest was my world.
