As the country is in intense rage following the horrific rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, another brutal crime has been reported where a nurse from Uttarakhand was raped and killed by a drug addict who left her body in an empty plot in Uttar Pradesh.
A nurse from Rudrapur, who went missing on July 30 after her shift at a private hospital, was found dead on August 8 in Bilaspur, Uttar Pradesh. CCTV footage revealed a suspicious man following her, leading to the arrest of Dharmendra, a daily wage laborer, in Rajasthan's Jodhpur. He confessed to abducting, raping, and murdering the nurse before stealing her belongings. Dharmendra's wife was also arrested for questioning. The case has drawn parallels with ongoing protests in Kolkata, where a 31-year-old trainee doctor was similarly raped and murdered, leading to the case being handed over to the CBI for a swift investigation.
