Next Week’s Theme – Night Shift Survival: What Nursing School Didn’t Teach You

Next week, we’re diving into a topic that nursing school definitely didn’t prepare us for—surviving the night shift! From staying awake at 3 AM to figuring out how to actually sleep during the day, night shift comes with its own set of challenges.

I’ll be sharing real-life tips, personal experiences, and the little-known tricks that make all the difference when you’re working nights. Think: how to fuel your body for energy (without crashing), adjusting your sleep schedule without losing your mind, and the best ways to avoid night shift burnout.

If you’re a night shift nurse (or about to start your first one), you won’t want to miss this! Stay tuned for next week’s posts, and let me know—what’s the hardest part about working night shift for you? Reply here or drop a comment!

You’ve got this, and I’ve got you!

I got up early this morning and got my daughter and myself ready for church. My family and I just finished having dinner and now I’m going to lay down for a little while because I decided to pick up a last minute shift tonight.

Anyone else working tonight??
Weekend and night shift diff is AMAZING!

It’s so easy to give up. Especially when the things we desire take longer than expected. Maybe you dreamed of having a new job, house, or car by now.

During times of waiting is often when the chance to develop character occurs. Maybe we need to improve our attitude or become more disciplined in a certain area.

Or, perhaps you realized you’ve based your happiness on things other than God. Sometimes hard times reveal what our hope is based on.

comment “PATIENCE” if you are determined not to give up during your time of waiting.
