🌾 THE HARVEST IS READY!

Jesus said to pray for workers.

Which is beautiful…until you realize you might be one of them. 😂

Bring what you’ve got. There’s room in the field.

OUT NOW 👁️🔥

Two blind men saw what others missed.
A silent man found his voice.
And mercy left us asking:

Who was really blind?

NEW SONG — “LOVE YOUR ENEMIES” 😂❤️

Jesus said, “Love your enemies.”

Cool.
Awesome.
Great.

Quick question—

Which ones?

The people who disagree with me?
The people who insult me?
The people who never apologize?
The imaginary enemies I created during an argument in the shower three days later?

Because apparently Jesus did not say:

“Love your enemies once they understand your point of view and acknowledge that you were correct.”

He just said…

Love your enemies.

So this song gets a little ridiculous—because sometimes our “enemies” are ridiculous.

But underneath the jokes is one of the most difficult things Jesus ever taught.

Love them.
Bless them.
Pray for them.
Do good to them.

And then, from the Cross:

“Father, forgive them…”

He wasn’t talking about His friends.

Maybe the miracle isn’t always changing them.

Maybe sometimes the miracle is surviving our own need to win.

Because if grace only reaches people like me, it isn’t grace.

If mercy only works when everybody’s nice, it isn’t mercy.

And sooner or later comes the humbling realization:

One day somebody will realize…
that enemy was me.

🎵 LOVE YOUR ENEMIES — out now from Hymn & Human.

Turns out the hardest part of following Jesus isn’t believing Him.

It’s discovering He meant every single word.

🎵 NEW SONG — “JESUS ATE WITH SINNERS”

“He saw a man called Matthew…”

Everyone else saw a tax collector.

Jesus saw Matthew.

And then He did something even more scandalous:

He pulled up a chair.

He ate with tax collectors.
He ate with sinners.
He went where respectable religion thought holiness shouldn’t go.

And when they questioned Him about it, Jesus answered:

“Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’”

This song is about that table.

About a Physician who moves toward the sick.

About mercy that refuses to stop at the respectable.

About the difference between identifying someone as “a sinner” and actually seeing their name.

You guarded the doorway.
He opened the table.
You named the sinner.
He called his name.

🎵 NEW SONG: “Your Sins Are Forgiven” (Matthew 9:1–8)

Everyone expected Jesus to heal the man’s body.

Instead, His first words were:

“Take heart, child; your sins are forgiven.”

Before He restored the man’s legs…

He restored his identity.

The crowd saw a paralytic.

Jesus saw a child.

This song is part of my ongoing series:

Following Jesus’ Way Through Jesus’ Words

Walking verse by verse through the Gospels, exploring not only what Jesus did—but what He was teaching.

I hope this song helps you hear Matthew 9 with fresh ears.

Hymn & Human

Some passages are easy to celebrate.

Some are impossible to ignore.

Matthew 8:28–34 has become one of those passages for me.

Two men are healed.

A herd of pigs drowns.

An entire town asks Jesus to leave.

What are we supposed to make of that?

Instead of pretending I had easy answers, I wrote two songs.

The first is simply the passage itself.

The second is called “Jesus… What Was That?”—the first entry in a new series called Wrestling with God, where we bring our hardest questions to Christ instead of hiding them from Him.

I don’t believe honest questions are the enemy of faith.

I think they can be one of the ways faith grows.

If Jesus truly reveals the Father, then every difficult passage deserves our most careful attention, our deepest humility, and our most honest prayers.

I’d love to hear what you notice in this passage.

Let’s wrestle together.

🌊 NEW SONG OUT NOW

WHO’S IN THE BOAT?

The disciples thought the storm was the story.

Jesus knew fear was.

Before He rebuked the wind…

He challenged their fear.

This song is for everyone who’s ever wondered if God is still with them in the middle of the waves.

Remember…

Who’s in the boat.

🎧 Now streaming on Hymn & Human.

If it encourages you, I’d love for you to like, comment, and share it with someone who’s walking through a storm today.

🎵 NEW RELEASE: ONE

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.”

Some songs begin with an answer.

This one began with a mystery.

For years, I read these passages separately.

The burning bush.

The Shema.

The words of Jesus.

Then one day, they started sounding like they were all singing the same song.

“I AM WHO I AM.”

“The LORD our God, the LORD is One.”

“Before Abraham was, I AM.”

“I and the Father are One.”

“That they may all be One… as We are One.”

I don’t pretend to have solved that mystery.

In fact, the older I get, the less interested I am in reducing God to something I can fully explain.

I’d rather stand barefoot before the fire.

I’d rather keep listening.

I’d rather let Scripture keep surprising me.

ONE is my attempt to put that journey into music—not as a statement of certainty, but as an invitation to wonder.

If this song does anything, I hope it encourages you to slow down, read these passages again, and wrestle honestly with the One they point toward.

Thank you for continuing this journey with me through Hymn & Human. Your conversations, questions, encouragement, and even your disagreements have made this project richer than I ever imagined.

Grace and peace,

—dp—
