🎵 NEW SONG: “Your Sins Are Forgiven” (Matthew 9:1–8)
Everyone expected Jesus to heal the man’s body.
Instead, His first words were:
“Take heart, child; your sins are forgiven.”
Before He restored the man’s legs…
He restored his identity.
The crowd saw a paralytic.
Jesus saw a child.
This song is part of my ongoing series:
Following Jesus’ Way Through Jesus’ Words
Walking verse by verse through the Gospels, exploring not only what Jesus did—but what He was teaching.
I hope this song helps you hear Matthew 9 with fresh ears.

Hymn & Human
Some passages are easy to celebrate.
Some are impossible to ignore.
Matthew 8:28–34 has become one of those passages for me.
Two men are healed.
A herd of pigs drowns.
An entire town asks Jesus to leave.
What are we supposed to make of that?
Instead of pretending I had easy answers, I wrote two songs.
The first is simply the passage itself.
The second is called “Jesus… What Was That?”—the first entry in a new series called Wrestling with God, where we bring our hardest questions to Christ instead of hiding them from Him.
I don’t believe honest questions are the enemy of faith.
I think they can be one of the ways faith grows.
If Jesus truly reveals the Father, then every difficult passage deserves our most careful attention, our deepest humility, and our most honest prayers.
I’d love to hear what you notice in this passage.
Let’s wrestle together.

🌊 NEW SONG OUT NOW
WHO’S IN THE BOAT?
The disciples thought the storm was the story.
Jesus knew fear was.
Before He rebuked the wind…
He challenged their fear.
This song is for everyone who’s ever wondered if God is still with them in the middle of the waves.
Remember…
Who’s in the boat.
🎧 Now streaming on Hymn & Human.
If it encourages you, I’d love for you to like, comment, and share it with someone who’s walking through a storm today.

🎵 NEW RELEASE: ONE
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.”
Some songs begin with an answer.
This one began with a mystery.
For years, I read these passages separately.
The burning bush.
The Shema.
The words of Jesus.
Then one day, they started sounding like they were all singing the same song.
“I AM WHO I AM.”
“The LORD our God, the LORD is One.”
“Before Abraham was, I AM.”
“I and the Father are One.”
“That they may all be One… as We are One.”
I don’t pretend to have solved that mystery.
In fact, the older I get, the less interested I am in reducing God to something I can fully explain.
I’d rather stand barefoot before the fire.
I’d rather keep listening.
I’d rather let Scripture keep surprising me.
ONE is my attempt to put that journey into music—not as a statement of certainty, but as an invitation to wonder.
If this song does anything, I hope it encourages you to slow down, read these passages again, and wrestle honestly with the One they point toward.
Thank you for continuing this journey with me through Hymn & Human. Your conversations, questions, encouragement, and even your disagreements have made this project richer than I ever imagined.
Grace and peace,
—dp—

✨ NEW SONG RELEASE ✨
BE FULFILLED
Matthew 8:14–17
Part of the ongoing series:
Following Jesus’ Way Through Jesus’ Words
Christ didn’t simply heal people…
He saw them.
He touched them.
He raised them.
And Matthew tells us this fulfilled the words of Isaiah:
“He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
One of the most beautiful discoveries while writing this song was realizing that healing wasn’t the end of the story.
Peter’s mother-in-law rose…
…and immediately began to serve.
Healing became love in action.
That’s the invitation for all of us.
May we become people who notice suffering before we’re asked.
Who move toward pain instead of away from it.
Who carry one another’s burdens.
May Christ walk through us.
And may the world…
Be Fulfilled.

🌿 NEW RELEASE 🌿
“She Laughs Again” is now live.
The newest chapter in our Inspiring Women of Scripture series tells the story of Sarah—a woman who left home in faith, waited through years of uncertainty, wrestled with doubt, and discovered that God’s promises are never bound by our timelines.
Her story isn’t just about becoming a mother.
It’s about becoming the woman God was shaping her to be.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ve missed your chance…
If you’ve ever felt forgotten…
If you’ve ever waited longer than you thought you could…
This song is for you.
“Is anything too hard for the LORD?” — Genesis 18:14
✨ You are not too late.
✨ You are not forgotten.
✨ You are still becoming.
I hope this song encourages you as much as Sarah’s story has encouraged me.
🎧 Listen now on Hymn & Human, and if it resonates with you, consider sharing it with someone who needs a reminder that their story isn’t over.
💛 Question for you:
Which woman of Scripture has inspired your faith the most, and why?

🎵 NEW TEACHING SONG PREMIERE 🎵
“Just Say the Word” is now live.
📖 Matthew 8:5–13
This is the next chapter in Following Jesus’ Way Through Jesus’ Words.
After healing the leper, Jesus is approached by someone no one expected to become the hero of the story…
A Roman centurion.
A soldier.
An outsider.
An enemy of Israel.
Yet Jesus says something astonishing:
“Truly I tell you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.”
Why?
Because the centurion understood something many of us still struggle to believe:
Jesus’ word is enough.
He didn’t ask Jesus to perform a spectacle.
He didn’t ask Him to prove His power.
He simply said:
“Only say the word…”
As I studied the Greek for this passage, one thing became impossible to ignore:
The leper trusted a touch.
The centurion trusted a word.
Both discovered the same Love.
I hope this song helps you hear this story with fresh ears and see the wideness of God’s kingdom through Jesus’ own words.
If it encourages you…

❤️ NEW SONG PREMIERE ❤️
“I Am Willing” is now live.
This song follows one of my favorite moments in the life of Jesus:
📖 Matthew 8:1–4
After coming down from the mountain, Jesus is approached by a man everyone else avoided—a man called a leper.
The man doesn’t ask…
“Can You?”
He asks…
“Lord, if You are willing…”
And Jesus answers with words that still echo today:
“I am willing. Be made clean.”
As a registered nurse, this story has always meant a great deal to me. Long before there was a miracle, there was a touch. Jesus saw the person before the diagnosis. He restored dignity before He restored status.
That is the heart of this song.
This is the newest release in the Following Jesus’ Way Through Jesus’ Words series, where we’re walking through the life and teachings of Jesus one passage at a time and letting Scripture shape the music.

☀️ NEW RELEASE! 🌙✨
SKY SAID SHINE is here.
Day 4 of the Bangers for the Creator series has officially arrived.
This song is inspired by Genesis 1:14–19—the moment the Creator filled the heavens with the sun, moon, and stars.
I wanted to imagine what creation itself might have sounded like when it answered God’s command.
Its answer?
SHINE.
This has become one of my favorite videos I’ve ever created. Between the music, the visuals, and the journey through oceans of light, stars, and cosmic waves, I think it captures a little of the awe Genesis invites us into.
If it encourages you:
☀️ Watch the full video.
⭐ Leave a comment with your favorite lyric.
🌙 Share it with someone who loves Scripture, worship, or beautiful visuals.
❤️ And if you’re enjoying this journey, I’d love for you to subscribe to Hymn & Human as we continue through all seven days of creation.
Thank you all for being part of this adventure.
The Creator called…
And the sky said—SHINE. ✨
