I used to love visiting Portland several times a year. The great bookstores, beautiful parks, interesting small shops.
It’s a nightmare now. They have organized thieves- watching cars of tourists to steal their luggage, for example. I’m surprised anyone visits there.

My toolkit being stolen from my car in front of work today in front of a witness and cameras. No, insurance covers nothing. $500 deductible for broken window. Don’t go to Seattle for any reason. It is like this every day.
Twenty years of knowledge on that kit. And they will get nothing of value to them.

Check on your neighbors. Volunteer through a local church group to check on people. I know not everyone has extra money these days but a few hours as a volunteer - this can make a difference. There are programs to assist people- you can help to connect them with those resources.

I hope I’m this brave and honest when I get to the end. It might be his last video.
His book , Reframe Your Brain , was well worth reading and using. It’s built around the idea of reframing how you interpret events and beliefs to shift your mindset and outcomes. There are
concrete examples that help turn a negative or limiting thought into something more empowering. And you can get in the habit of reframing your own thoughts after trying some examples.
It has helped me face , and do better , in difficult situations and rethink habits or reactions I’ve had for years.
It’s funny, clear and practical. Especially helpful in creative pursuits or if you tend to rumination instead of action.

I’m going to miss this man.
