So the Austin Montego is 42 years old today. Launched on 25th April 1984 it had the same running gear as the Maestro but with a 4 door body. Later it was also available in a 5 door estate version. It was actually a very good car but suffered from the bad reputation that Austin Rover had at the time. Did you have one? What did you think of the Montego? #austinrover #montego #austinmontego #classiccars
The Rover SD1 looked like a rocket ship when it was launched in 1976 but was only available with the awesome but not exactly frugal 3.5l Buick derive V8. Not long afterwards though there was a range of straight 6 engines released in 2,300cc and 2,600cc versions. They got a bad reputation for overheating but they were actually a surprisingly good package if looked after. They were capable of a producing lot more power than they actually gave out but were detuned in order to not step on the toes of the venerable V8. Do you have experience with the 6 cylinder Rover SD1? #FamilyCar #classiccars #roversd1
Unbelievably we are now over 2000 subscribers! Only 3 weeks ago I was boasting about having hit the 750 mark so thanks to all my new and existing subscribers. You are all welcome to the channel. To celebrate here’s a picture of a Lotus Emira Jim Clark edition. Just because I can!
A very nice (but not perfect) 1984 Rover SD1 Vanden Plas EFi has just sold at Mathewson for £23,200 + fees (so well over £25k). Who said the classic car market has collapsed?
Oh my word! A few days ago I posted that we had reached a milestone of 500 subscribers. Then today, we have hit 600 subs. Thank you very much to everyone that has subscribed and watched any of my amateur videos. This one on the latest Brightwells Classic Car auction was watched over 2200 times in a few days. Thanks again everyone.
So we hit a milestone today with the latest video. 500 subscribers! So, not exactly a huge channel but a big milestone for us. Our first real video was just over a year ago so that’s not too bad for channel that I put together in my spare time. Thank you to everyone that has watched or subscribed to the channel. I know that around 80% of my viewers are not subscribed so if you could just press that subscribe button that would be much appreciated and it would help the channel. I am going to ambitiously target 1000 subs by the end of 2026. Let’s see how close we can get. Thanks again.
New video on the Bicester Scramble dropping at 6pm this evening. Take a look and let me know what you think of the cars on show. Did you go and what did you think to it?
Thank you to all of my subscribers new and old. We’ve just popped over the 300 mark this evening - that’s almost 200 more than I had a few weeks ago. Look out for more content soon.
