Good morning friends! (Or whatever time it is where you are❤️) Something I shared on a recent live that I’m excited about is I applied and enrolled for NYU’s Modern Journalism course!! 😍 This isn’t a full degree just a certificate course, I won’t be a bonafide “journalist” when it’s complete, but I will feel like I know a little more about the foundations of what I’m trying to do and I’m really excited about that! NYU and Rolling Stone magazine collaborated on this course, and it looks like there will be some interesting assignments to complete. Anyway I wanted to share with yall, hope everyone is having a good day! ❤️

We are home again after a few days in Coffeyville, Kansas! 🌞❤️The town is the site of an 1892 shootout between the Dalton Gang who came there to rob two banks at the same time, and the townspeople who were pre-warned and formed a militia to defend the banks! 😬What makes this different from today, is there wasnt FDIC insurance yet, and deposited money from local people was physically kept at the bank, so if a local bank was robbed of everything, the local depositors lost all their savings! So they had way more motivation to defend a bank than people would today, in America today depositors don’t lose any money if a bank is robbed thanks to multiple mechanisms including FDIC insurance. 💯We toured their Dalton Defenders Historical Museum, Death Alley and the Victorian age Brown Family Mansion. I took videos to put together and show yall, it’s some really fascinating history! Hope you’re all doing well and hopefully I’ll see you on a live sometime Monday! ❤️
