Bin Ghanim Island popularly known as Purple Island is just a forty minute drive from Doha.
The approach to the island is across a wooden bridge which serves as a foot-path. Vehicles can be parked in front of the bridge.
The walk across the bridge is less than a kilometre. Mangroves can be found on both sides which teem with birds, flowers, fish and crabs.
