🚨🚨 In March 2026, Argentine authorities reopened an investigation into alleged human trafficking and child exploitation involving singer Gloria Trevi, her former manager Sergio Andrade, and María Raquenel Portillo (“Mary Boquitas”).
On March 23, Argentina’s anti-trafficking committee formally asked the Mexican Embassy for judicial cooperation to help move the case forward. The decision to revisit the investigation stems from a past complaint by Liliana Regueiro, a former dancer associated with the Trevi-Andrade group.
The case centers on serious allegations including trafficking, exploitation of minors, and conditions akin to slavery. It had been inactive for years due to difficulties coordinating legal efforts across multiple countries, including Argentina, Mexico, Spain, and Brazil.
Authorities are also reexamining the case in light of concerns about how it was originally handled in Mexico, including claims that the judge who cleared Trevi in 2004 may not have had the proper credentials at the time. #gloriatrevi
