The older I get, the more I realize that relationships don’t usually break in one day.

Sometimes they break quietly.

A conversation you kept postponing.

A hurt you kept swallowing.

A boundary you kept ignoring.

And then one day, everybody is asking:

“How did we get here?”

That’s the part of the P-Square story that has really stayed with me.

Not the celebrity angle.

Not the gist.

The human angle.

Because behind every family disagreement are people who once loved each other deeply.

And that could be any of us.

So these days, I’m learning to have the uncomfortable conversation.

To say “this hurt me” before it becomes resentment.

To clarify things around money.

To set boundaries without hatred.

And to apologize when I’m wrong.

Because sometimes protecting a relationship isn’t about loving harder.

It’s about handling love better.

Motherhood during school holidays should come with a warning label.

⚠️ Increased food consumption

I remember when I was pregnant and everyone kept saying, “Enjoy this season.”

At the time, I thought they were talking about the pictures, the excitement, the tiny clothes, the anticipation of meeting my baby.

I didn’t know they were also talking about the woman I was about to become.

Because motherhood changes you.

You can be tired and still get up.

You can be overwhelmed and still find a way to show up.

You can have absolutely no idea what you’re doing and still somehow become exactly what your child needs that day. 😂

But one thing motherhood has taught me is this:

The mother needs care too.

Sometimes we celebrate the mother for being strong when what she really needs is someone to say, “You don’t have to be strong today. I’ve got you.”

Someone to hold the baby.

Someone to make the meal.

Someone to listen without giving unsolicited advice. 😂

Someone to remind her that she’s doing better than she thinks.

That’s why the line “No One Fights Alone” from the box office queen @funkejenifaakindele The Four caught my attention.

Because motherhood may be one of the most beautiful things I’ve experienced, but it was never meant to be a one-woman assignment.

We need our village.

And sometimes, the greatest thing we can do for another mother is simply become part of hers.

So, to every woman raising a child while also trying to find herself, build something, keep her home together and still remember who she was before motherhood:
