Tommorow June 17 is my birthday🎂

Don't forget to celebrate Otasansan, Dream that comes to reality🎙️

Mo dúpẹ́ ooo...
Mo sì ń bèrè fún àánú sí lórí lórí ayé mi.

Reading, writing and speaking had been my hobby from my childhood.

I made it compulsory for myself to buy a daily newspaper every Monday of the blessed week during my senior secondary school years keep myself updated with current happening in the country.

MY study time then was between 10pm and 12 mid-night. I could remember vividly that, i wouldn't understand what I was studying if my transistor fm radio beside me was not on. I would be studying and the same time listening to shows on fm radio.

The pix I posted in 2013 was shot when I was in Senior secondary school 2 class then year 2003

Today, I am a Professional Broadcaster.

Otasansan loruko mi.

Kí Ọlọ́run mayo àánú rẹ kúrò lórí ayé mi.

OONI HOSTS OSUN IMMIGRATION COMPTROLLER, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR AGENCY

The Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula and the Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, on Monday received the newly deployed Osun State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Morakinyo Akinyemi, during a courtesy visit to the historic Ile Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife.

In a statement on Monday by the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, said Akinyemi, who recently assumed office as the State Comptroller, arrived at the palace alongside members of his management team to formally introduce himself and seek royal blessings from the foremost traditional ruler.

Speaking during the visit, Akinyemi expressed delight at the opportunity to meet with the Ooni, describing the monarch as a revered leader whose influence transcends cultural boundaries.

He noted that his visit was not only to pay homage but also to establish a cordial working relationship with the palace. “I am here to pay a visit and to receive royal blessings. I am always happy to see Your Majesty, and I am deeply honoured to be here today,” he said.

The Comptroller further emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service and traditional institutions, particularly in areas of intelligence gathering, border control awareness, and community engagement, noting that such partnerships are crucial to enhancing national security.

Responding, the Ooni who is also the Permanent Co-chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) appreciated the Comptroller and his team for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of respect for tradition and recognition of the role of traditional rulers in governance and societal development.

He reaffirmed his longstanding relationship with the Nigeria Immigration Service and commended the agency for its critical role in safeguarding the nation’s borders.

“I thank you for this honour. I have a very strong relationship with your agency, and I appreciate the work you are doing for our country. God will bless you,” the Ooni said.

Ooni Ogunwusi assured the Comptroller of his full support, stressing that the palace remains open to collaboration with security agencies for the peace, stability, and development of society.

The 1886 peace agreement—often called the Kiriji War Peace Treaty—was signed at Imesi-Ile to end the long-running Kiriji (Ekiti Parapọ vs Ibadan) war. It aimed mainly at ending hostilities, restoring stability, and setting rules for coexistence among Yoruba polities.

What is accurate in your message

It ended the Kiriji war and dissolved the war camp at Imesi-Ile.

It emphasized peace, trade, and non-aggression among Yoruba kingdoms.

It acknowledged the roles of major powers like Ibadan and the Ekiti Parapo Confederacy.

It included a clause referring disputes to the British authority in Lagos Colony.

Where your version needs correction

The treaty did not declare all land as belonging to a single unified Yoruba authority. Instead, it recognized the independence of different kingdoms.

It did not establish any one ruler as a “supreme authority over all Yoruba people.” Traditional leadership structures remained plural and decentralized.

While Ile-Ife is widely regarded in tradition as the spiritual cradle of the Yoruba, the treaty itself was more political and military than cultural or spiritual in its wording.

Some specific claims about hierarchy between the Alaafin of Oyo and Ooni of Ife are interpretations, not direct statements from the treaty.

A clearer way to present your message

If your goal is unity and awareness, a stronger framing would be:

The treaty showed that Yoruba kingdoms can resolve conflict through dialogue.

It confirmed that despite political differences, the people share common heritage and interconnected history.

It stands as a reminder that peace, cooperation, and mutual respect are essential for progress.

Bottom line

The 1886 agreement is powerful history—but its strength lies in ending division, not in proving dominance of one group over another. Keeping the facts precise will make your advocacy more respected and harder to challenge.
