Why Did People Start Calling Me The UK Chilli Queen?
It all started by accident many years ago! I entered a Chilli-Eating Challenge in Kingston-Upon-Thames, won it, and here I am many victories later! I love hot food and enjoy the delectable piquancy that a chilli adds to a portion of food...but no way do I have any special superhuman powers or high tolerance to pain! These chillies wound me just like they do most people. The nerves set in days in advance and I dread each and every competition but I just can't give up when it comes to a chilli challenge!

If anyone had ever told me that chilli eating would lead to meeting Mayors of European cities - I would have laughed in disbelief.
I am eternally grateful that bringing the League of Fire Chilli Eating Competition to various cities across Europe has given me the honour of meeting and chatting with some incredible civic leaders.
This one was particularly special - the Mayor of the beautiful town of Šmarje pri Jelšah in Slovenia, Matija Čakš, to my left - and the wonderful, award-winning superstar sauce maker of Slovenia, Matic Vizjak, founder and creator of the world-renowned, award-winning Čili Frik, to my right.
Moments like this remind me just how far this sport has come thanks to League Of Fire. 🌶️🔥

Belated Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️
I was going to release this picture on Valentine’s Day. It’s a bouquet of roses - but instead of roses, it features the Rose of Shahina superhot pepper.
This pepper was created in my honour by renowned Hungarian grower Laszlo Diczko in 2023. We then entrusted a select group of growers around the world to grow it out and stabilise the variety. The ultimate goal is to perfect that unmistakable rose-shaped form.
Here are some fine F3 specimens grown by our friends at Chilli Hills Farm.
I hope you all had a beautiful Valentine’s Day with your loved ones. I took lots of photos with the Rose in Vietnam that I’ll be sharing soon. I wore a dress with roses on it, my sandals had roses on them, and I even had a rose in my hair. I can’t even begin to explain what it means to me to be the only chilli eater in the world to have a pepper created in my honour by an award-winning grower, and as a total surprise.
The Rose of Shahina will, I hope, live long after I am gone. What a legacy to have. 🌹🔥
