Что могло бы получиться, если бы доспешные мастерские Хельмшмидтов, Зузенхофера и Пруннера решили создать что-то в коллаборации? Скорее всего - ничего. Прежде всего из-за амбиций и силы их собственных брендов. Но пофантазировать можно.
Представляю вашему вниманию мои размышления на эту тему. Шлем, вдохновлённый работами и рисунками южногерманских мастеров первого десятилетия XVI века. Фактически - Аугсбурга и Инсбрука.


What might have happened if the armour workshops of the Helmschmids, the Seusenhofers, and the Prunners had decided to collaborate on a single project? Most likely - nothing. Their own workshop identities and reputations were simply too important. But it's an interesting idea to imagine.
So here's my take on it: a helmet inspired by the surviving works and drawings of South German masters from the first decade of the 16th century. In essence, it's an imagined collaboration between Augsburg and Innsbruck.

Наконец я закончил этот сложный и трудоемкий проект! Завтра, 29.05. 2026, выйдет видео . В нём я подробно рассказываю об одном из самых сложных и амбициозных шлемов, которые мне доводилось делать — ренессансном клоузхельме с маской грифона, вдохновлённом оригинальным шлемом XVI века из коллекции Метрополитан.
Я расскажу:
— про исторический оригинал и эпоху Карла V
— про эстетику и инженерную логику ренессансного доспеха
— про баланс функциональности и красоты
— про технические сложности изготовления
— про чеканку, золочение и формовку
— про то, как мастера эпохи Возрождения сочетали защиту, подвижность и художественное выражение
— и в конце — сколько на самом деле стоит создание такого шлема
Этот проект создавался как реплика музейного уровня с опорой на изучение исторических оригиналов и традиционных технологий.

— the technical challenges behind its construction
— repoussé work, gilding, and shaping techniques

Ещё один пример комбинации золочения с воронением. Шлем сделан ради забрала в виде маски "зелёного человека", предположительно работы Филиппо Негроли. Шлем был начат в 2014г, продолжен и закончен в 2022м. В промежутке - собирал пыль на полке.

Another example of combining gilding with bluing. The helmet was made for the sake of the visor in the form of a "Green Man" mask, presumably after a work by Filippo Negroli. The helmet was started in 2014, continued and completed in 2022. In between, it was gathering dust on a shelf.

В скором времени выйдет большое видео, посвященное золочению и воронению доспехов. Пока что подогрею интерес к теме фотографиями бургиньота, который я сделал 5 лет назад. Воронение на нем выполнено щелочным способом(в растворе натриевой селитры и едкого натра), золочение методом "погружения" в железосинеродистом электролите.

A full-length video on gilding and bluing of armor is coming soon. In the meantime, I’ll warm up your interest with photos of a burgonet I made five years ago. The bluing was done using an alkaline method (in a solution of sodium nitrate and caustic soda), and the gilding was done by immersion in a ferrocyanide-based electrolyte.

Несколько фоток бургундского жандарма на 1470е. Бригантина, нагрудник и плечи с ронделями работы Old-world armoury. Шлем, руки, ноги делал я. К комплекту планируется апгрейд в виде новых рук с золочёными локтями. Для полноты картины, так сказать.

A few photos of a Burgundian gendarme from the 1470s. The brigandine, breastplate, and shoulders with rondels were made by Old-World Armoury. The helmet, arms, and legs were made by me. An upgrade is planned for the set in the form of new arms with gilded elbows, for completeness.
