𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: 𝟐𝟒 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟗𝟔𝟓

On this day during the Rann of Kutch conflict, the Pakistan Air Force showcased its vigilance and air superiority when an Indian Air Force Dassault Ouragan (Toofani) fighter intruded into Pakistani airspace near Badin, Sindh.

The intruding aircraft, flown by Indian Air Force Flight Lieutenant Rana Lal Chand Sikka of No. 51 Auxiliary Squadron from Jamnagar, was swiftly intercepted by a PAF F-104A Starfighter.

As the Pakistani pilot locked on with a Sidewinder missile, Flt Lt Sikka lowered his landing gear — the international signal of aerial surrender.

The Indian Ouragan made a forced landing in an open field near Jangshahi village.

Flt Lt Rana Lal Chand Sikka was taken as a Prisoner of War. He was later released on 14 August 1965 as a goodwill gesture on Pakistan’s Independence Day. The captured Ouragan was retained by the PAF as a war trophy.

wing commander aftab alam khan,another valiant fighter pilot from our airforce,who created a record of achieving firsttt ever missile kill by PAF..he shot down n indian plane over rahwali,gujranwala in sept 1965 while flying a F-104 star fighter..

d second n the more interesting part of d record is that he was awarded coveted SJ,a gallantry award which he refused to accept,stating that this was his duty n that is wat he was trained for..

they don’t make such officers anymore i guess..

PAF Officers Mess, Peshawar, September 1965.

A remarkable photograph taken shortly after the ceasefire, capturing a moment that reflected the professionalism and mutual respect that existed between airmen on both sides. Seen in the photograph are Group Captain M.A. Dogar, Wing Commander M.A. Sikander, Wing Commander M.K. Afzal, and Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh of the Indian Air Force during his visit to Peshawar at the invitation of Air Marshal Nur Khan, Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Air Force.

Air Commodore M.K. Afzal, later remembered as one of the finest Base Commanders in the PAF, had served as PSO to Air Marshal Nur Khan during the 1965 War and subsequently as his Military Secretary.

An interesting recollection from those present is that Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh, originally from Lyallpur (now Faisalabad), asked to spend some quiet moments alone on the veranda of the Officers Mess where he had once lived during service in the NWFP in the 1930s, reflecting on memories of an earlier time.

A photograph that reminds us that even after conflict, dignity, respect, and soldierly conduct can endure.

Pakistan Navy and allied countries successfully completed their training. 

Addressing the parade, the Chief Guest said that Pakistan Air Force is a highly professional organization that is recognized as a combat-efficient force through its exemplary courage and bravery. As per the vision of Chief of the Air Staff, PAF Airmen Academy Korangi Creek is conducting airmen training to cater for ever-evolving Multi Domain Operations, thereby addressing future challenges. He further said that PAF has always stood firm together with sister services to defend the sovereignty of our country. Due to the hostile neighbourhood on Eastern and Western borders, the nation looks upon PAF with even greater expectations and I assure the nation that PAF will always stand firm with the same commitment as exhibited during Marka-e-Haq Bunyan-ul-Marsoos. The world has witnessed the first-ever application of full-spectrum Multi Domain Operations by PAF, utilizing elements of space, cyber and electronic warfare along with long-range vectors, unmanned aerial systems and killer drones against the numerically superior adversary. The Chief Guest said that niche and disruptive technologies have changed the landscape of future conflicts. By the grace of Allah Almighty and the unwavering resolve of the national leadership, Pakistan Air Force has embarked upon the journey of indigenization under the auspices of National Aero Space and Technology Parks.

Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for the Overall Best Performance was awarded to Aircraftman Muhammad Anas Arshad. Asghar Khan Trophy for the Best in Aeronautics was awarded to Aircraftman Muhammad Abu Bakar while Nur Khan Trophy for the Best in Aero Avionics Technology was awarded to Aircraftman Mehmood Hassan. Air Officer Commanding Trophy for the Best in General Service Training was awarded to Academy Sergeant Aircraftman Muhammad Arsalan, whereas the Best Performance Trophy for the foreign trainee was awarded to Lance Corporal Ezzeldeen Khaled Al-Deik from Jordan.

Felicitating the graduating trainees and their parents, the Chief Guest wished them a bright future and success in their professional assignments. He also commended the instructional staff for their sincere endeavours and commitment to the cause of training.
