My Moody Monster®

Welcome to the My Moody Monster® Channel! Moody is a pull-apart plush doll helping kiddos better cope with their BIG Feelings in a safe way. Moody is helping families, therapists and teachers communicate with children to help them understand their Emotions. Moody is an inclusive Monster who loves to help kids feel empowered with their emotions.

On the channel, you will find our signature Moody Talks where we choose an Emotion and discuss Coping Skills and Strategies to use when we are overwhelmed by Intense Feelings. By using these skills, you can create an Emotions Toolbox for yourself and help your kids create their own toolbox as well.

You'll also find our Moody Story Time videos where Moody and I read books about Emotions while your kids relax and take in the helpful tricks they can use to help them cope with their feelings. Whether the story is about Anger, Sadness, Fear or any other intense emotion, Moody is there to help children understand that their emotions are valid!

Welcome to our 4th Moody Talk on Interpersonal Effectiveness. We'll be focusing on Self Respect Effectiveness or How do I stick by my own morals and beliefs during a conflict.

We all have a hard time coping with conflicts - and, unfortunately, sometimes we will back down from that conflict while agreeing to something we may not feel lines up with our own values. DBT created a set of skills to help remind ourselves how to feel good about our decisions made during a difficult situation.

The acronym FAST gives us keywords to remember while we are trying to do what is best for us.

See you Tuesday!

Welcome to the 3rd Moody Talk on Interpersonal Effectiveness - we're diving into relationships in conflict. How can we keep a relationship healthy and safe while in a difficult conversation?

DBT offers up the skill set they call GIVE - an acronym to help remember the 4 words that can help you go into a tough situation with care.

My Moody Monster®

Welcome to the 2nd Moody Talk on Interpersonal Effectiveness. DBT created a group of coping skills to remember when focusing on Objective Effectiveness (better known as Getting What You Want).

DEAR MAN is an acronym - each letter is a word to remember while in the situation. It's a great set of skills to practice because it's important to remember these factors for a positive resolution of a conflict situation.

Tune in Tuesday!

My Moody Monster®

Welcome to the first Moody Talk on Interpersonal Effectiveness where we'll be talking about the goals we need to remember when in conversation with one or more people. This can be in our personal relationships or our office/school relationships.

How many of us HATE conflict? ✋ How many of us AVOID conflict? ✋ And how many of us GIVE IN when in conflict? ✋

There are effective ways to cope with conflict in a safe way without giving up on our goals. And this month we will be going through skills sets for the 3 clarifying goals in Interpersonal Situations.

See you Tuesday!

My Moody Monster®

Welcome to our 4th and final Moody Talk on Distress Tolerance. Today we will be working through a concept that can be tough to swallow.

Radical Acceptance may be hard, but it is necessary in some circumstances. It can be so difficult to accept a reality that we can not change, but in order to move on with choosing your own path in life, you have to give yourself to that acceptance.

See You Tuesday!
