i've been using AI almost every day in both work & personal projects over the past 9 months and I'm finally sitting down to talk about how i'm feeling 🥹

as someone who's been working in tech for almost 10 years, i've never been more excited about what's possible, but i've also been thinking a lot about productivity, the pressure to keep learning, and what it actually means to do good work.

this one's a little more personal than my usual videos, but i hope it resonates with some of you 🤍

How AI will impact careers in tech (2027 edition).

Not fear mongering, just some unfiltered thoughts as in my opinion, things are going to change very soon.

The gap between those that are using AI vs not using AI, is growing faster every day.

However, here a few things you can do to AI proof your career:
- If you aren’t already using AI coding agents (no I’m not talking about copilot), pay for a Codex or Claude Code subscription for a month and build something.
- Focus on developing good product intuition and know what to question, instead of building because you can.

Some unfiltered thoughts after after working with AI every day for 9 months…😪

I'm tired of getting sent AI slop to review.
Of watching people glaze over AI generated artifacts.
Of feeling like I constantly have to keep up.
Over-explaining why I’m taking my time to build out the foundations.

New AI tools, new models, more things to build, more things to ship, more ways to prove I’m still valuable.

Sometimes I just want to do good work, take the time to do it properly, and not feel like I’m falling behind because I’m not moving at AI speed 🥱

I’m scared, excited and confused at the same time. AI has made me a significantly better data scientist - and ironically I worry it’ll take my job away eventually.
