Award-winning children's author, Megan Kalmes, lives in sunny southern Arizona with her husband and their three beautiful children. It has always been her dream to write children's books about their dachshund, Slinky. He was a funny, sweet, and energetic dog who brought a lot of joy to her family, and he is very missed. Megan loves being a mommy, reading with her children, spending time in the Utah mountains, miniature dachshunds (of course!), and running her small candle company. You can usually find her watching a classic Disney movie or having a dance party with her kids, writing new material, and photographing all things beautiful and adorable.
