What if the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship had the NASCAR points format? (2017-present, no stages, playoffs, or fastest lap bonus points, sprint and feature races are worth the same amount of points. Retirement = 0 points. No other gimmicks.) NOTE: The Dutch sprint race awarded no points, just like in real life.
1. Théo Pourchaire 720
2. Dennis Hauger 687
3. Ayumu Iwasa 681
4. Jack Doohan 676
5. Frederik Vesti 671
6. Victor Martins 638
7. Enzo Fittipaldi 633
8. Oliver Bearman 631
9. Isack Hadjar 620
10. Jak Crawford 597
11. Zane Maloney 597
12. Richard Verschoor 596
13. Arthur Leclerc 586
14. Kush Maini 585
15. Juan Manuel Correa 547
16. Roman Staněk 545
17. Jehan Daruvala 528
18. Roy Nissany 486
19. Clément Novalak 453
20. Ralph Boschung 449
21. Amaury Cordeel 424
22. Brad Benavides 297
23. Josh Mason 131
24. Paul Aron 40
25. Franco Colapinto 18
Like reality, Théo Pourchaire would win the title. The title fight would go down to the feature race at Abu Dhabi, with Pourchaire entering with a 31-point lead over Hauger and a 40-point league over Iwasa. Hauger had to finish at least 6th with Iwasa behind him, and Pourchaire retiring from the race in order to have a shot. Iwasa had a similar situation, but it was a must-win (He had the tiebreaker over Pourchaire on wins). Iwasa's 4th place finish would not be enough, and Hauger only managed 7th. Pourchaire's 5th place finish was enough to clinch the title by 33 points over Hauger, and 39 points over Iwasa. Frederik Vesti, despite scoring 6 wins on the season, finished 5th in points.
Let me know if you noticed any mistakes while calculating.
