Whilst I've had time I've slowly been chipping away at the 70 Degree V Twin engine for my SS50. These will be for sale as a kit set once I get the patterns made. Send me an email to express your interest.
This will be a far more refined version of my earlier 144cc V Twin engine. The Kit will start as a set of machined cases, a crank pin, a second piston and rod, and a widened cylinder and head.
Also don't worry, the patterns for the chassis are well under way.
As I have been finishing up the core boxes and pattern designs for the headstock casting, I have also added some optional bracing to the swingarm in CAD. Whether I implement this or not is yet to be determined although it is good to have the option depending on how the track testing goes.
The headstock casting is 5.00mm thick cc601/A356, this will be welded to 3.00mm 5052 using 4043 filler wire.
Bear in mind this bike is designed around a 20-25hp engine that is raced on Kart tracks. All of this is giving me more experience and opening up to more possibilities when it comes time to make the V4 and put it into something.
The next video will likely be machining the core boxes and patterns for the head stock.
Soo close now, the gaskets are in and the clutch cover is mounted. Now I just need to make the gaskets for the lower cylinder, sort an intake manifold for the vertical cylinder, make some 0.6mm shims for the gearbox shafts and make a temporary loom.
This top quality part will be used to tension the cam chain. Well that’s the plan, it should only be about a week away. You’ve got to love Ali express for all the odds and ends you can find, from end-mills to cam chains and guides.

The Next 5 V200 Engines have been cast and are waiting on machining. I’ve also been working on another project, something 2 stroke.

Here’s the plans for the chassis, the 430mm length was extended to 520mm. The whole thing can be made from 19mm ERW tube 1.2-1.6mm wall thickness.
