Questionaire: Your Favourite Slow Classical Pieces!

Hello Halidon community. We recently shared a video featuring some amazing slower, calmer classical pieces: Classical Adagios | Calm Classical Music

Some of the pieces in this video are among our absolute, all-time favourites, and we wanted to ask for your opinion: which among these four is YOUR favourite? Do you disagree with our selection? If you can't find your favourite slow classical piece among these or in our video, what is it? Let us know in the comments.

If you need a reminder, here is the link to the video (titles and timestamps in the description): https://youtu.be/cDQe-M5_eCs?feature=...

We of course don't think of this as a competition. All of this music is beautiful and edifying in its own way. We just want you to share and discuss your love of music!

Did you know❓
Austrian composer Franz Joseph Haydn (March 31, 1732—May 31, 1809), particularly remembered for the pivotal role he played in helping establish the forms and styles for the string quartet and the symphony, was Beethoven's tutor for a while.

The tutoring was short lived though, possibly because of Beethoven's famous temper and stubbornness. When the younger composer published his first compositions, the Op. 1 Piano Trios, Haydn suggested that Beethoven include the phrase "pupil of Haydn" underneath his name so as to take advantage of his teacher's fame. Despite Haydn's goodwill towards Beethoven, the latter didn't appreciate this suggestion because he felt that he hadn't learned anything from the older composer and apparently only mentioned receiving "some instruction".

Haydn was present at the first performance of the Op. 1 Trios and is said to have advised Beethoven not to publish the C minor Trio (Op. 1, No. 3) because he feared that the work would receive an unfavorable reaction from the public. Unfortunately Beethoven was very proud of the composition, which he considered the best of the Trios, and he interpreted Haydn's advice as an indication of his envy.
Nonetheless, the two composers managed to remain on relatively good terms until Haydn's death in 1809. Beethoven attended the concert in honor of Haydn's 76th birthday, and sources of the time say that he "knelt down before Haydn and fervently kissed the hands and forehead of his old teacher".

Well hello there folks, we hope you're all enjoying your Saturday! 🌿
We're still buzzing from the recent release of Alexander Litvinovsky's 'Snow White' Suite (haven't heard it yet? you can do it here 👉 https://youtu.be/TuKBkkCORgM 🍎) so today we'd love to hear from you what your favourite Suite by Litvinovsky is. We can only add four options to our polls so we were forced to leave out 'Pinocchio' and 'Pélleas et Mélisande' but this doesn't mean we love them any less, so feel free to show them appreciation in the comments if they're your personal favourites! 🎶
