🚫 MYTH: “All LiFePO4 suppliers are basically the same.”
I used to believe this too… until I watched 3 distributors lose an entire season because of the wrong supplier.
Here’s what actually happens behind the scenes👇
❌ Myth #1: “A-grade is A-grade.”
Last week I decoded a pallet for a German client:
Half the “A-grade” cells were mixed batches.
Some factories think QR codes are decorations…
❌ Myth #2: “If the list says compatible, it’s compatible.”
Most CAN lists online are copy-paste.
Then installers call you because SOC jumps, alarms pop, and balancing never activates.
I’ve sat through those midnight calls with engineers. Not fun.
❌ Myth #3: “Same pack, same performance.”
If your supplier isn’t using 2A active balancing, the pack drifts in <12 months.
And guess who gets blamed?
Not the factory — you.
❌ Myth #4: “Lead time just means shipping.”
No. Lead time tells you whether a supplier changes cell types every two weeks.
If they do, your margin is gone before the container lands.
❌ Myth #5: “OEM = put logo and ship.”
Real OEM work is firmware, CAN mapping, housing design, app stability.
One UK brand lost 6 weeks because their factory changed a BMS chip mid-cycle.
I still feel that pain.
