7 hours and 40 minutes of conversation with the GOAT Nate MFin Johnson. Both parts out now. Part 2 also happens to be episode *one hundred and fifty*...! So here's a moment of reflection:
Since day 1 of the show, Yan & I's north star has always been to do the interviews that we feel are important for the culture & the scene. Whether that be through long lost "out of comission" musicians that don't even have social media, or highlighting smaller bands that we feel deserve the attention. A preservation of history &/or the documentation of a moment in time. Interviews that we wish existed, but for some reason they don't.
Most content creators / podcasts out there (respectfully) focus on anything but; it's all about what's current and what's already popular. We don't care about looking "cool" because we got a "big guest", and we certainly could not care less to do an interview with someone who's done 10 other interviews that same week. We strive to have an angle, we strive to offer something different, and this conversation with Nate Johnson is (imo) a testament to what we are trying to do with the podcast.
All that being said, what I really wanted to get at here is that none of this would be possible without the people who watch the show. One of the big reasons we're able to convince anyone to take part in our silly little show is because you all actually tune in. We don't have prior relationships with most of our guests, so without y'all, it'd be a way different ask.
So, I just wanted to say *thank you*, from the bottom of our hearts. We are still buzzing from that fact that we got to do this one & in the way that we did. Much love to Nate & to everyone who believes in what we do.
