My sailing boat and 2009 car are regular features—boat life offers a unique lifestyle, and my older car often needs repairs as I work toward saving for a van to join the van life.
My Goals:
I would like to grow this channel and set sail for seasonal cruising. The plan is to leave the boat in a marina abroad during the off-season, fly back, and embark on van life road trips. Long-term, I aim to leave the UK and establish a semi-off-grid homestead—something like a tiny home setup.
I'll film boat tour videos when I can, This does depend on the participation of others. I also help care for my parents. I'm working on sustainability projects to help them cut ongoing cost like solar system

£13.00 is probably the most attractive price point for a classic Casio watch. Very nice; it is new to me today, a nice, clean, clear, lightweight daily wear. Here in the UK, fuel currently costs around £2.00 per litre. For my American friends, that's approximately $10.22 per US gallon! I chose my car because it was affordable—I paid £2,000 for it five years ago when it had about 90,000 miles. It's easy to maintain, offers excellent MPG, and has ample boot space, making it the perfect motorway cruiser!

Any suggestions for videos? My car MOT is coming up soon, but all my tools are on the boat, and I’ve even donated my jack stands! Since my 2009 car has 171,500 miles on it, any repair work depends on the MOT results. I’ve got plenty of boat projects lined up, especially some electronics that need replacing. There is no episode this week; today alone, I am driving 500+ miles. This morning I took a van back from Birmingham to Leeds, then I am getting my car, driving back to Birmingham, collecting a different van, and heading to Bangor in Wales. It is basically the same distance as driving from Birmingham to Amsterdam or Paris. Yesterday I was at a gig in London near the City Airport, plus the weekend at Regent's Park in south London working for a granola company giving samples away. The day before that, I was at Aston University with a team of five managing the freshers' fair with 27 commercial vendors to look after, which is what I am doing in Bangor. I am very busy, hence no episode. I have been filming some clips and could make an episode on my event work; if you are interested, let me know.

I am rendering the next episode! On top of editing, I have been super busy with my gig work. On Monday and Tuesday, I helped in a warehouse during the day, followed by fixing screens in supermarkets in the evenings. Wednesday through Friday, I worked 12-hour shifts at the cricket club all week. Plus, last week I spent three long days moving furniture before coming home to edit. The episode is part two of fixing up the engine; I am going to schedule it for Friday night, and in the video, I also talk a bit about the gig work.

If you missed the last boat video, I’ve been working on the engine, and here’s where things are up to. Also I'm not sure what happened with my last video talking about YouTube seems the audio is out of sync, yet the video file is fine on my laptop. I'll leave it for now but I may do another one around Xmas time perhaps a yearly review.
Anyway......
Another layer of primer is on, the main green paint is now on, all the hoses are attached, and the coolant is in. This was my main goal when I got to the boat, so I’m really happy to have reached this point.
I did have a little issue with the new plate/thermostat, which you’ll see in the next episode. Nothing ever seems to go completely to plan! 😂
As for this week, I have the footage ready to go. Normally, a video takes me around 10 hours to edit, but this week I’m working five days across three different jobs.
With event work, I’m usually there before, during and after the shows/events, and this week I’ve got three days of 07:30–20:00, plus two shorter 8-hour days. One of those also involves driving, so realistically that’s closer to 10 hours.
So, a nice little 56-hour working week for me. 😅
I’m also still aching from the last few days, as I spent three days working at a conference, moving furniture around all day. Luckily, this week’s jobs are long hours but not quite as physically demanding — although I’ll still be on my feet for most of the day.
I’ll do my best to get the edit done late into the evenings where I can.
The joys of being on low pay in a high-cost world! 😂
