Welcome to my channel! I share a variety of content including adventures, boat life, boat tours, car maintenance, car camping, interviews, personal finance, product reviews, and sustainable alternative living. The content shifts throughout the year depending on the season, weather, and current projects. My sailing boat and 2009 car are regular features—boat life offers a unique lifestyle, and my older car often needs repairs as I work toward saving for a van to join the van life.
My Goals:
I would like to grow this channel and set sail for seasonal cruising. The plan is to leave the boat in a marina abroad during the off-season, fly back, and embark on van life road trips. Long-term, I aim to leave the UK and establish a semi-off-grid homestead—something like a tiny home setup.
I'll film boat tour videos when I can, This does depend on the participation of others. I also help care for my parents. I'm working on sustainability projects to help them cut ongoing cost like solar system

I've been pretty busy helping out my folks down sizing/moving house so no video this week. My last video was part of my lithium battery upgrade. I decided with the alternator issue to swap over the pulley wheel. This will be my next video on this, my main channel. In the mean time my second channel (its new) I've just done a product review around the heated airer / dryer.

I've not had a chance to make any videos over the past couple of weeks. I've been helping my folks move house. There were a few issues a long the way originally the moving date was "hopefully before Xmas" to a date set. That date was then changed due to the house buyers having funding hiccups. That got sorted out and last minute, it was a case of booking a moving company and moving within 12 hour notice! So very hectic. When moving into the new house we we're informed there was still issues with the funding for our old home from the new buyers and we should not of had the keys to the new house! However at that point it was late afternoon and the moving company had pretty much unloaded the truck. So its been very crazy! My folks have moved closer to my sister so she will be able to help them out a bit more, freeing myself up. Currently I'm boarding up their loft space. Hopefully I'll be back on the boat, my last episode was installing the new alternator for my lithium battery..... I did have to jump ship head home for a mixture of reasons. Good news is instead of living 3 hours away from the boat, its now only 2.5 so an hour saved!

No video this week, we're busy downsizing and there's was a little complication. originally we we're moving during the week. Last minute the new buyers had a little trouble with the solicitors, however that's been resolved and we're frantically packing.
I did however manage to film for my second channel@NomadProductReviewsa review on the black and decker heated airer. amzn.to/3MJx0xt
I was halfway through the editing when we got the call to move! Hopefully I'll be able to upload it. Feel free to subscribe as its a new channel. mainly focusing on offgrid, efficiency and energy saving products or products i genuinely really like. The last episode was about nespresso coffee machines vs espresso machines and which one is best.

Just got my hands on the Black and Decker heated clothes dryer! It's brand new and I'm planning a review. (For my other YT Channel @NomadProductReviews ) What should I be looking out for? My main reasons for buying are to avoid damp smelling clothes and speed up the laundry process. The house isn't always heated. I'm open to all your questions before I start filming! This is the one I chose and as always I used my own money and not sponsored. amzn.to/4oTNWyS I'm not sure if it's any good yet as it's still in box.

On the boat my latest episodes have been around installing new lithium batteries and in the video I used the Bluetti power station, which I used a lot actually. My car is basically a mobile office as I drive I charge the battery. On the boat I like to hang out do some online gaming and use my coffee machine. But I also use it at home. At home I have 3 large solar panels which are connected together and my power station charges up (depending on what time of the year) then I use this power on the evenings to help cut cost.
We're in the process of moving and with this I'm looking to scale up both the batteries and solar to help cut cost even more. This will enable the use of using the washing machine, constantly running the base load of fridge/freezer along with occasional cooking.
At the new place I will likely pick up another higher capacity and ouput power station, mainly to side step any regulation.
Ecoflow delta pro 3 - amzn.to/4oHCZjD
BLUETTI Power Station Apex 300 - amzn.to/4atxeTx
I may build a server rack battery system outside and have that as the main power and then a small inverter just to trickle charge the PowerStation inside.
What would you do?

I've done a few product reviews on the channel and when I did a poll a while ago the main vote was a second channel for reviews. If your window shopping for a coffee machine my new channel's second video has just been launched. Like all my videos the products are not sponsored, I paid retail for them and I own these 3 machines (one is a present) Thanks if you watch the video, like, comment and subscribe. The second channel isn't going to be that busy with reviews. For the most part I live out of a suit case i hotels, the boat, my folks and depending on the work situation abroad. The reviews will be things based on cost cutting like solar and batteries, efficiency stuff like that. Next products I'm thinking is a heated clothing line which will dry cloths faster without needing to put the heating on. Which here in the UK energy is expensive and maybe a ninja tower, again to cut cooking times/energy. Let me know if you have any experience with them.

I started a new channel @NomadProductReviewsFirst episode is based on which coffee machine suits your needs. It's that time of year where people are picking up presents and so its an idea to have an informeddecision. The channel is going to be products I personally buy using my own money and honest reviews. The two machine I have are great, one comes with me to the boat the smaller one. The other stays at home. The Nespresso machine is a gift. The Nespresso machines are good, easy to use at an attractive price point. However the capsuals can be expensive. So I talk about my experience with these machines. A basic run down of how to use them and why you may want to consider them.
Appreciate if folks subscribe to that channel.
Products will mainly be around cost cutting and boosting self sufficienty. Solar/power stations, tools that type of stuff....which i will buy myself.

Just going to change the battery......
I just upgraded from 4x Lead acid batteries over to a new lithium battery. Relocated the starter battery. Found some burnt wire on the back of the alternator......which the bolt holding on the burnt cable snapped off. (I need a new more powerful one for the new battery anyway.....but was planning on doing that next year) But the Victron Orion XS is installed. I also changed out some wires and removed some of them along with moving one of the solar chargers and added breakers.....

Changing a battery ....
. boat jobs got to love them :-) I have a few episode out tonight about what I picked up to swap the batteries over to lithium. I'm not going to use the terminal block fuse. It won't fit and apparently the TClass fuse is the only one I need.
