“You held me together when I lost my mum” – Alex Ekubo’s wife’s emotional tribute to late actor surfaces online
The late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo's wife wrote a touching tribute that has appeared online, sharing recollections of their marriage, love, and unique bond.
She referred to the actor as her "Dadaa" in the now-viral note, recalling the names he given her, such as "Pookstar," "Asa IKUKU," and "Nwa," claiming that the names were her home.
She described him as her pillar of support during one of the most trying times in her life when she lost her mother a year ago.
“When my mother passed a year ago, you were my anchor. You held me together during a season where everything felt heavy. Your love gave me the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other,” she wrote.
The bereaved widow claimed that every day she still finds herself reaching out for him, only to realise that he is no longer present in the same manner.
The bereaved widow claimed that every day she still finds herself reaching out for him, only to realise that he is no longer present in the same manner.
She also described how Alex put handwritten notes all throughout their house as a way of expressing his love.
“Little messages from my Dadaa to his Nwa. Sometimes sweet, sometimes just a simple reminder that I was loved. Dadaa, you mattered. To so many people, in so many ways.
And that is why this loss feels enormous. You are my Dadaa, you will always be my favourite human being. Forever your Nwa,” she added.
The late actor's wife said they prayed together and believed God's promises, characterising their relationship as a spiritual journey. She continued by saying that Alex's compassion and goodwill had a profound effect on many lives.
Loved ones, coworkers, and admirers who remember Alex Ekubo's generosity and influence have continued to send him emotional condolences after he died at the age of 40 from a fight with illness.
