Island Life - Official Channel
Welcome to Island Life, a series filmed at Russell Island daily. Island Life is owned by Sam's Island Life Office. This channel is run by a cameraman with Autism. Starring Sam Wilkes Sr. (the last surviving original actor in Island Life), Thomas Blazier (departing soon) and (up until 25 January 2022) John Wilkes. Each episode in this series named "Island Life" (or Russell Island Adventures on Island Life) is 30 minutes (eventually cut back to 15 minutes then to 10 minutes with some exceeding 10 minutes), showing what life is like for the autistic cameraman on the Bay Islands and Mainland Queensland. Hope you stick around for the ride. The long journey of this program is coming to an end in November, so subscribe to get to the end of the road (or not).

Island Life - Official Channel
I’ve come on here to announce that after five long years of daily recording, Island Life will be ending at Episode 1,999 (recording this on 23 November 2025). I didn't expect the series to last as long as it did. Portraying my character and creating stories about my daily life on the island has been inspirational, much like a daily vlogging series and I’m so grateful you all came with me on this journey. This series has meant so much to me, it’s taught me so much and I’ve had the privilege to have met quite a few high profile people. I never expected the channel and series to have done as well as it has, and grateful for every single one of you that stood with me on this incredible journey, but we’re not done yet. There’s still time left.
As for what will happen post-Island Life, occasional uploads regarding what I'm up to will be made from time to time. It has been quite a long journey (lasting more than five years) and I'm thankful for that. I still have enough time to create a new series following Island Life, a spinoff featuring the attractions that I did not visit in the main series. Following the conclusion of that spinoff, the channel will change up, with only life updates. To sum it up, I'm not fully quitting.

After I upload the next batch of videos, there won't be uploads for a unspecified amount of time as we will be extremely busy with packing boxes as we're leaving Russell Island this November and will be really busy and tired throughout this time. Filming will continue as per usual but just letting you know now in case you're curious. The series will conclude filming and production in late November 2025.

Hello Islanders. It has been a while since the last time we were on.
Unfortunately, you may have noticed I have been lagging on the episode uploads. First, I was without power just before TC Alfred landed on the island, then I got a cold two weeks later, halting the editing and uploads and then I have been not in good health afterwards, then came a three day holiday in Gatton (28th - 30th April) and today, I came back and unsure of the next upload because I have been facing an issue regarding hard drive space on the C Drive. The C Drive is always full regardless of which app I open on my PC. The free space gets hogged by apps taking up the available RAM for some reason. So, I'm not allowing comments on here, just letting you know that this will be a rocky year for the uploads but thank goodness that it all comes to an end in November 2025.

Great news, Islanders. We are bringing out a new sub-name for Island Life once the September episodes start uploading. The September episodes are going to be named Island Life - Island and Mainland Realms. Still have most of the August episodes to upload first so it'll be a few weeks until the September episodes are up. Watch this space, Islanders. See you.

There is still a month of episodes to go until the series changes back to Island Life - Living in Poverty due to a similar situation back in October 2022. It'll probably deter many of you Islanders but there really is nothing I can do to prevent it, sorry. Still, another month of Russell Island Adventures before we revert back. Good thing though, we get to keep our current logo in line with the switch, so you will see the new logo in due time. See you Islanders.

New episodes will now be made with Filmora 13 since Filmora 11 does not allow me to add transition slides on new episodes. So, we will have to make do with Filmora 13 for however long Russell Island Adventures on Island Life lasts. Watch this space, Islanders.
