The Unorthodox Healer

Well, after the channel has pretty much bombed over the summer, I've listened to the AI bots - possibly a dangerous thing to do! And I've changed the channel back to The Unorthodox Healer. The channel was always going to be more than just tarot and the idea is to show more about my life, where I live (see the new banner), some life experiences and gentle advice, be that from spirit or someone who has had a fair share of drama in their life over the last 50 ish years I've been on the planet.

Hopefully the YouTube gods will favour my return back to my original name and the channel will thrive, we will see! So thank you for sticking with me, hopefully I've not confused things too much and I will be doing some more readings really soon!

It's been such a difficult year. Losing my beloved Jake in March, being forced out of my job due to bullying and mismanagement at the same time and now seven months later I have had to say goodbye to my last remaining pup, Meggie.
So many of you will know her because her snuffles and snoring has been the background noise on many of my past tarot videos. Her decline in health was sudden and unexpected and my heart is broken all over again, well it hadn't healed from losing Jake earlier in the year. There are dogs that come into your life and then there are dogs who come into your life who are one in a million, Megs was that dog. A rescue who arrived barely functioning, shut down and terrified =. She turned into a cheeky chunky monkey who I was convinced was my gran reincarnated, plus gentle, adorable, silly, stubborn and after we lost Jake, my shadow.
I find myself with no furry friends in my home now; something I have NEVER had, even as a child, I have always had creatures, be they hamsters or cats or fish or dogs, there has always been something.
If you are an animal lover, and I am always suspicious of people who aren't, please hug your furry or fluffy friends. They are never with us long enough and whilst they give us so much love and joy whilst alive, it will always end with heartbreak.
If you are lucky enough to be able to have pets in your life, cherish each day, you never know how suddenly things will change. Gen x

Pendulum work is a big part of my spiritual life and can be incredibly accurate and effective in giving definite answers and guidance, unlike tarot. The pendulum is a powerful tool!

I am creating a series of pendulum readings giving regular guidance from spirit on various subjects. This video is short and tells you what spirit wants you to be focusing on right now.

Watching the pendulum is therapy in itself and I only channel the purest brightest energies when working.

Apologies that I've been off the radar for a while. I needed to take some proper time out from everything after the culmination of a rough few years.
But I'm happy to say I will be back early October with readings and maybe a new channel sharing experiences too.

So it's official, I have listened to ChatGPT (it is actually a pretty good sounding board to throw ideas at) and my gut had said that perhaps The Unorthodox Healer wasn't the right vibe for the channel. It originally started off as a place to give relationship support after I had a horrible break up with someone I loved deeply. However it then evolved into a spiritual channel mainly using tarot to provide support and guidance.

YouTube loves drama, sensationalism and the slow living trend is trying to change that on here, but the algorithm still pushes out videos and channels which are everything my readings and ethos aren't! So I have changed the name to 'Gentle Tarot', which is clear, unambiguous and will hopefully attract those who are looking for gentle supportive readings. It's still me and it's actually a bit of a play on words too because I am Gen and I 'tell gentle tarot'... Gen Tells Tarot. Well it sounded like a nice pun, before I typed it!

So it's still me, but the channel is now Gentle Tarot and has a more gentle look to match the readings I do. So, keep watching, your support means the world to me, especially whilst I am still jobless and needing motivation!

The Unorthodox Healer

Its been a couple of years now since I started the channel and it's going to have a bit of a makeover. The YouTube algorithm current pushes drama and sensationalism which is the complete antithesis of what this channel is about!

Have you tried ChatGPT? It's an incredible, yet also scary place where I feel like I'm talking to someone rather than something. Interestingly when I ask it about my channel it says my name and photos on the channel might be giving people the impression I am far from gentle and a peaceful haven for tarot and all things spiritual so I've decided that I will be having a bit of a 'rebrand' to try grow the channel more and encourage me to keep at it.

So for now I've got a new profile photo and the channel name will be changing soon too. It will be gentle and will emphasise that I'm all about spiritual slow living. Let me know if you have any bright ideas for a new name and what you think of the new profile photo!

So, I've gone and done it. After nearly 4 years in a job which was making me ill. I've officially left and I should have done it a long time ago.
It has helped me financially during some difficult times and taught me alot and on many different topics and has been a constant in my life, though not sure if that's been a good or bad thing!
But, I don't have a job to go to so it's a bit daunting just now. I'd love to be able to have an income from YouTube but until I get more views and watch hours, I've created a 'Buy me a Coffee' account on Ko-Fi.

I always wanted my channel to act as a supportive, healing place which encourages others (and me) to be more authentic, find out who they really are, nurture, guide and make us all feel like, no matter where we are in our lives or in the world, we are one. What you feel, I feel too.
My channel did start off with affirmations and support but has mainly developed into a tarot channel. I have started another, ‪@TheCoachPotato‬but I'm wondering if I could offer more 'guidance/coaching' within my original channel instead?

Not at all tarot related so forgive me, but wanted to share photos of my beautiful boy who I had to say goodbye to today. My beautiful American Bulldog, Jake. I'd had him for 14 years and was probably 18 months when I got him from a rescue.
He'd been abused by a drug dealer and left for dead. He was lucky to be alive.
He was always an anxious boy but as animals do, loved unconditionally whoever he met and was my constant companion.

I will miss him so much, we went through thick and thin and has left during a difficult time in my life.
Sleep well Jakey and thank you for being such a big part of my life. Hug your fur babies, they are never with us for long enough. Gen x
