Dear Aristocrat,

I recently had the misfortune (and occasional joy?) of playing your new slot machine Galactic Quest, and I have to say—this game took me on an emotional rollercoaster I did not sign up for.

Let me start with the obvious: it’s loud. Painfully loud. Your alien characters scream, make constipated noises, and throw sound effects like confetti—every. single. spin. At some point, the volume alone had me contemplating a protest outside your headquarters with picket signs that say “STOP THE ALIEN YELLING.”

And then there's the gameplay. I kept landing six coins… only to find out I don’t actually get the bonus unless there's a character. Really? Six coins with sound effects like I just triggered the apocalypse, only to get nothing? As I said during the session: “I’m going to write Aristocrat a very sternly worded letter… what the hell were you thinking giving me lightning link without lightning link?”

Also, the mechanics are unclear. You land characters with money, but nothing happens unless the spaces align just right. Sometimes you get a feature, sometimes you don’t. It’s inconsistent, confusing, and honestly, a little insulting to aliens.

But credit where it’s due: when the bonuses do land, they’re fun and decently rewarding. I hit $300+ on a few spins, and I finally got to see what the green guy and the revive feature do. And the 5x multiplier? Beautiful moment—brief, but beautiful. You even tempted me with the grand a couple times, and I briefly stopped writing this imaginary angry letter.

Still… by the end of the session, I found myself saying, “Dear Aristocrat, I still hate it.” The gameplay is messy, the noise is overwhelming, and the features feel like they’re hidden behind a wall of chaos and false hope.

I might play it again once or twice just to see if I missed something. But as of now, your game has emotionally drained me for the day. Please consider fewer fake mustaches on the poker symbols, fewer sound effects, and maybe a little more clarity on how the features work.
