Luke McQuillan is the author and composer of Love in the Light: A Musical Novel. In addition to writing and music, Luke is known for his voice-acting work with Cartoon Network and Netflix. He enjoys over 30k followers across his various social media pages and is known for his Bea Arthur impressions. He graduated magma cum laude from Illinois College, where he earned the college’s top award in the arts for an original musical he wrote and directed.

I still can’t believe I was on NPR Illinois! The story aired today, and is now live on their site. We discussed my book, Love in the Light: A Musical Novel, the mechanics of writing a book with songs, shining a light on forgotten/hidden queer love, and more. They even played a song from the book. Knowing my music was on the radio (a first for me) is truly a dream come true. Story in the comments!

In honor of LGBTQ History Month, here are my two guys from my book, Love in the Light: A Musical Novel. Set in 1939, the book tells the story of a forbidden romance set in a lighthouse between two men trying to find their way amidst the darkness of the late 30's. An old forgotten lighthouse provides safe harbor for them to explore love - and find the light in each other.
