Hi post-rockers,

I just found out that Wherepostrockdwells was hacked, and Ronnie has created a new channel to continue sharing his gems with everyone. We've been sharing post-rock music for years. I can imagine how heartbreaking this must be for Ronnie. He dedicated a lot of time to his channel, I hope heโ€™s able to get it back. I'm in one of those periods where I hardly follow any emails or news in the community, and I just found out the news today. I know it's a bit late, but I wanted to let you know about Ronnie's new channel: "WPRD Reborn". You probably already know about WPRD, so please subscribe to the new channel if you haven't already.

Also, if anyone here works at Google or YouTube, maybe you could help speed up the process of recovering the channel. I hope Ronnie gets his channel back soon.

Thanks everyone for creating the post-rock community,
Can

Thanks so much for your all support since I created the channel (about the 10 years ago). If there are people who would like to contribute my channel financially, here is the way. My goal is having 100 Buymeacoffee members to maintain the channel full time. Right now I have 22 members. I'm already grateful to all people who supported me by words and following my channel, thanks a lot for everything.

Hi all,

I wanted to share some news about my channel and my personal life. And, most importantly, providing you with full transparency about my channel. First of all, I'm more than grateful to everybody who has been supporting me over the years. To be honest, I lost my motivation to keep the channel going many times; long-time followers probably noticed the breaks I took, especially in the last two years. The first video I uploaded was 9 years ago, and I was just 16 years old at that time. Now I'm 25 years old, and obviously, life is not the same as during my teenage years. Unfortunately, life is not easy for most of us, my life has been full of struggles starting from childhood, just like many of yours.

When I created the channel, my sole intention was to build a personal collection for myself. The channel was just a hobby for me and I wanted to keep it that way all time. After the channel growed, the artists started to send me their works for a feature. At that time, I was studying university and I had financial and family issues. It was kind of like an opportunity to make money through channel but I didn't feel comfortable about it and never charged the artists. I didn't want it to turn into a job, I was just sharing music that other people produced and I didn't monetize my channel on Youtube even if it was monetizable at that time. However, after graduation life hit me hard. Unfortunately, life sometimes force you to do things you don't want to do.

As I mentioned, I simply share music that artists produce, and I still don't feel comfortable involving money. However, there are times when you feel like you don't have any other choice, and you end up doing things you don't want to do. I would probably monetize the channel on YouTube at that time, but it was no longer eligible for monetization, and still today it is not monetizable due Youtube policies, which is entirely normal. Since I felt like I was ignoring an opportunity to help my family and myself, I created a page where fans and artists can support me financially. I want to emphasize that I've never charged artists for an upload, and I'll never do so.

I want to provide you with full transparency about the process. I've never shared a work that I personally dislike, even if I was offered money to share it. When artists send me their work, I listen to their music, and if I enjoy it, I share it on my channel. There is no money involved about Youtube uploads. Then, I mention my Buymeacoffee page and ask for their financial support. If they are interested, they contribute to me financially. If they are not, I still share their work on Youtube. So money doesn't affect my decision-making. However, to increase the number of members, I offer extra benefits to the artists who are interested in promoting their music on Spotify and Instagram.

Basically, I only share music I enjoy, and if the artist is able to support me financially, I share their music on other platforms as well. If they are not able to provide financial support, I share their music only on YouTube anyway. I hope my explation makes sense about the situation.

My channel is no longer just a hobby for me; it is now a job that I am passionate about. I was working as a translator for years and taking care of the channel at the same time, but I felt that it is very difficult to run both, and I don't want to give up on the channel just yet. I have decided to take a break from translations for a year and focus solely on the channel.

My only source of income right now is my Buymeacoffee page and Submithub. Hopefully, I will manage to reach a monthly amount that is enough to take care of my family and myself financially. I will give it a try and solely focus on my channel for some time. I hope I can succeed. I am open to hearing criticism, and I would understand if you don't like the process I explained. I am still not entirely comfortable with everything, but it is just life, and sometimes you can't see any other option. I'm honestly grateful for your support and I can't ask you more but if there are people who want to help me financially and contribute to my journey, here is my Buymeacoffee page: www.buymeacoffee.com/whpr

Thanks for your understanding and support,
Can
