"I hope flowers grow on your grave." π± The panel is finally done. π This metaphor is often used, to symbolise a good person, that even after passing, there is... this lingering energy, that makes nature bloom. And next to their tombstone plants and flowers feel safe enough to grow. I just had this visual, in my head, for a while of an abandoned cemetery overtaken by nature. Nature taking back what it's hers. π± The second post of 2026 may seem a bit gloom, but death is a crucial part of life and something we have to accept (as scary as it may seem). Also, can we just talk about how it's not even a week of 2026 and so much has happened already. π
Paintings on old book pages...π» This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, but could not figure out what book to sacrifice for it. π But then, I remember, my grandmother gave me, a long time ago her soviet book of "Jane Eyre", very torn and decrepit. The backstory of how this book ended up in this condition, is unknown, but it's here. So, I thought I would add some flowers into your feed. They were quite fast to paint, which I was very happy about (and in return can take some time on my bigger paintings). It was also very fun to do, without a sketch, just open the gouache colours and create. Very freeing. I don't know if it's the winter blues, but the urge to paint flowers is too strong. πΈπΈπΈ

There was a 7 day challenge I did on instagram. Each day was a different artist and you have to draw a cat either inspired by that painter or in their style.β¨ Here are the results:
This is a little sketchbook spread about female constant fight for liberation. And lately, it does feel like our rights are under "questions" to put it lightly. So, that inspired me to do a little representation of that in this small drawing.βοΈ What do you guys think of it? Do you share my concerns?
