YIKES, it's been a minute since I've loaded a video!!! Sorry guys, so so much going on, I have a video to edit, just no time to get it done.

So here's what's up...

Cancer stuff - seeing a new oncologist tomorrow, continuing to explore options for removal and ostomy reversal. Not sure either are possible yet, but I will not give up hope. Doing blood work, the cancer markers are still there, but now I'm getting more aggressive with the diet and meds.

Homestead stuff - Bees almost died, they are out of food. I got in the hive in time to feed them and as of yesterday, they are once again thriving... but it's a race now to get enough honey stores before winter. Guys, we've had a brutal summer of almost no rain and 90+ degree days for weeks on end. Everything here is almost dead. I don't know what to do as if I water, I'll spend all my time watering and our budget doesn't allow for that. We did put in a new front door ourselves and I replaced the jumper wire as Brian needed his cable back for his new well pump project.

Reviews - Got a few out, got a few more shot and some more to shoot and get out to you guys. Forks, radio and Jeep stuff, etc. It's higher on the list than homestead stuff sorta... ya, it is.

Family stuff - Jess's parents dropped off a microwave and sink for the new bathroom. Jess's mom Ruby and I went thrifting today and found some stuff for the build and air bnb. Link got a surprise too! Jess needs prayers you guys... she's really overworked and stressed out. Please send her prayers and positive thoughts. Link went in for his wisdom teeth xray and ya... he needs them out. He has been hurting the last few weeks and we have that surgery planned in Springfield in the coming month. Please pray for him as well, he's doing the best he can with teenage stuff, school, sports, and friend networks. It's a lot for a kid these days.

Work - I have a new job as a rep for a natural medical company. It was a lot to learn and I'm finally going out to visit with Dr's and related businesses as of yesterday. I've started a team of a few people as well from North Dakota, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Louisiana. We're going to help thousands of people break free from the big p. I'm still working on a few websites and videos, but that businesses is pretty much for friends and family only now. Helping people with their medial stuff is where my passion is at... especially for my family.

Overall we're doing ok. God provides where we fall short and it's really rough right now, but we're making it. It'll get better, I have faith in Him, it will get better. Thank you all for the love and support!

Sorry we've been away for a few weeks. Between the new jobs and contracts and dealing with the cancer and such... I just haven't made any videos for Oldwayon. BUT the future looks bright indeed! We plan to visit many old way locations in the Fall and winter and hopefully have a camper and truck to do this with by Spring. While we'll still do homesteading and barndo videos, we'll be doing a lot more exploring videos soon.

Sorry, we've been kind of slow on updates with the heat. Ryan continues to improve after his latest CT scan, he went up to WI to pick Link up (grandma came down and brought him up for a few weeks of work). Filming has been done, but Ryan also took on a few more website and contract jobs, we'll chat about those things as well in an upcoming video. Cheers!

Assisting neighbors with their new chicken coop! Their first chicken, but definitely not the last 😉

Fostering community, we gifted them a chicken to kickstart their self-sufficiency. If each neighbor contributed something small—like a garden, chickens, rabbits, ducks, or pigs—the community would be far more resilient with minimal effort when times get tough.

After carrying the laptop from hospital to hospital, the editing machine is now in need of repair (can't get the main SSD drive to respond). We've upgraded some components over the last year, but this now adds more delays to video output. Hopefully Ryan can dig into this today and get it fixed, but we've decided to get a dedicated editing computer in the coming days (once some equipment has been sold).

This last weekend, friends helped us get a new toilet running among many other tasks Ryan can't do while he heals from surgery. Some of these things we'll report as blogs as few things this weekend were filmed (again due to Ryan not being able to film) but Jess did get some pictures and video, so all is not lost.

Many things are again changing on our homestead as we adapt to the cards we're being delt. Know that we want to continue telling our story, just more issues to deal with.

Some asked how they can financially help, we do have PayPal, cash app, venmo, etc. We can PM any of that over. Going forward, we wanted to do our own yearly membership that has cards, stickers, merch, etc. We're just not there yet.

A new dawn on the start of the last leg of this journey! Jess drove late down twisty mountain, washed out roads from Mountain Home to Little Rock arriving at 9:30pm.

Spent the remainder of the evening checking into the ER, doing tests, meeting with ER docs, going over our file, another CT scan, and poorly sleeping. We finally got our room at 6:30am.

Today, Ryan goes under for a full surgical inspection, then we'll know more about all our options.
