Headline: RS125 EFI Project

"RS Dropbear" PCBs Available Now! 🛠️

Welcome back to RFM, everyone.I’ve had a lot of questions about the RS125 EFI conversion series, specifically how to get your hands on the hardware to build your own ECU. I’m pleased to announce that the "RS Dropbear" boards are now live. For those wanting to get on the tools, I am offering two options:

1. The Pre-Tinned PCB (£28)
I have professionally run these boards through the reflow station to pre-tin the pads, providing a precise, stable copper base for your SMD components.

Workflow: You will still need to hand-apply solder paste over these pads before component placement.
Precision Warning: You must apply the paste carefully to each pad. Do not over-paste—it leads directly to bridging. Take your time, inspect your work under magnification, and keep your copper wick handy to manage any excess.
2. The Bare PCB (£18)
For those who prefer the full workshop experience from the very first step. The details:

(includes postage upto £3.60 any more will have to be added before dispatch)

Open Source: The full KiCad project files and BOM are available for all Bench Crew members on Patreon. You have the full source data to explore, learn, or adapt.
Technical Integrity: This is DIY engineering. The project is provided "as-is" under an open-source framework, and all assembly and integration is done entirely at your own risk. This is custom, serious work—verify your circuit on the bench before putting power to your ignition system.
Everything you need to get started is right here:

If you grab a pre-tinned board, give the pads a close inspection under a magnifier once it arrives. If there are any irregularities, use a quality flux and copper wick to clean them up before you start your build. Thanks to everyone who’s been following this madness. Whether you’re just watching the progress or building along, I’m glad you’re here.Back to the bench.

What do you think guys? No video this week due to the very hot weather and a training course I had to do. However I have used KiCad for the first time and used the dropbear as its DNA to build my own.

I made a silly mistake, and I’ve taken out two driver chips and the Teensy 4.1. Tonight, we’re going live to attempt the repair. It’s either going to work, or I’m building a new one from scratch.

I’ll be walking through the exact forensic breakdown of how I managed to destroy the board so you can avoid doing the same to your fuel injection project build.

Come along, see the carnage, and let's get it running. See you there.

Bit of a milestone yesterday: I personally delivered the GN125 to its new home. It was a small trek, but seeing how chuffed the new owner was made it all worth it. It’s always a bit bittersweet letting a project go, but I couldn't be happier to see it in good hands. 🏍️ I’d love to see what you lot are riding! Send in a photo of you and your bike, and I’ll share the best ones here.

Leave a message on here and email your photo of your ride or project.

It's done. 🔧

The GN125 is finished.

This thing came to me with a seized chain, a cracked brake, and more hidden surprises than I expected. Full service. Full TLC. Total transformation.
Today it went to Mount Motorcycles for its MOT.

The result? You'll have to watch to find out — but I will say this: the lads at Mount were genuinely taken aback by the standard of the build. That made the whole journey worth it.

Final episode is LIVE now 👇

And while the MOT was going on — I wasn't sitting in a waiting room. The Bear 650 was already out on the road. That one's live too if you missed it.

Drop a 🔧 in the comments if you've been following this build from the start.
