Leadership Principles from the life of Christ.
Indeed Jesus is our role model in how we need to serve God. There are different areas I pick from the life of Jesus.
Servant leadership. Jesus taught and retaught what it takes to lead from behind that the least among us is the greatest. He gave the example of servant leadership by washing the feet of His disciples (John 13-12-15).
Compassion over people. In most occasion Jesus was identified having compassion over the crowd and the people (Matthew 9:36). A good leader needs to have compassion on the people he or she is leading and have empathy with them.
Sold out for God. Jesus was sold out for His Father that he didn't enjoy his own life. Day and night He lived to please and fulfill His Heavenly Father wishes. He died to his own will to please the will of His father. This is what makes Him to be the most beloved Son of God we need to listen to (Mark 9:7).
Master trainer. What made Jesus stand out is the ability to turn fishers of fish to fishers of men (Mathew 4:19). Leaders need to have capacity to bring the best out of people. Jesus turned ordinary men like Peter, to become pillars of communities and societies. Just like David turned ordinary men who were with him to mighty warriors , same way leaders needs to raise people who will do greater and mightier things than them (John 14:12-14).
Leading by love. One aspect of ministry is love. The Gospel without love is vanity. Love is the binding factor. Jesus taught us how to love one another, created the atmosphere of love among the disciples.
