Today, Australia and New Zealand pause to remeber those who both served their country's interests in conflict abroad and those who paid the ultimate price in doing so.
ANZAC day is however an opportunity to not only rember the service members past and present, but to also remind ourselves of something important that effects us each day.
Mateship.
Each year the veterans I know and am lucky enough to call friends, talk about the growing anticipation of meeting up with those they served with for a beer or coffee. They talk of these mates in simple plain terms, often with an understated reverence.
My observations of these friendships is that when they served they were serving for the person to the left and right of them. They served for the security of their squad. They sacrificed a portion, and in some cases the entirety of their lives in order to ensure the safe return of their mates to their family's.
ANZAC day is more than a reflection on past sacrifices. It's an opportunity to celebrate Mateship forged in sacrifice.
Today, we as a nation, get to ensure those friendships have a space to continue growing. As a nation we get to recognise the individuals who lead by example and hopefully let it inspire us to check on our mates.
Well, the shop has some stock! And there's a lot more to come. Given the location, being in the NE of Victoria, I made the choice to stick to alluvial mining gear. I don't currently see the point in stocking detectors in an area that's notoriously difficult to detect gold in.
That being said, I will have Garrett, XP and Stumpy picks gear in the shop to cover every other aspect of alluvial and hardrock mining.
Nugget Rush Pay-Dirt is back in stock! These pieces come from Western Australia, found by a Victorian prospector on her annual trip west to escape the cold weather 😀
Limited amount avalible, very nice pieces 👌 link in comments 👇
I just found my biggest ever gold nugget!!!! This popped out in my pan and all I could think was, "wow, that's a shiny rock" ✨️ It wasn't until I picked it up and felt the weight that I realised it was gold!!
Best part was i had a subscriber of mine on the creek with me. What a bloody ripper of a day!!
Now, how much do you think it weighs? It's over 3 grams for sure, closest guess wins this trophy 🏆

We have a few really nice bits of gold up on the shop at the moment, including a whopper of a piece at over 15 grams on central Victorian gold!

This is the method I use every time we hit the creek to maximise the gold we recover for the time we have!
