📖 Matthew 5:13–16

EACH OF US HAS A UNIQUE FLAVOR OF SALT

"You are the salt of the earth."

Salt has many uses. In the same way, each of us carries a unique “flavor” that God has entrusted to us.

Not everyone has the same abilities, circumstances, or mission.

Some are called to guide others.
Some serve quietly behind the scenes.
Some bring joy and hope to those around them.
Others faithfully offer their daily prayers and sacrifices in silence.

What matters is whether we still preserve the saltiness that God has placed within us.

God does not need us to become someone else. He simply asks us to live fully as the person He created us to be and to generously share the gifts we have received. When we do so, we help make this world a better place and become the salt of the earth according to our own vocation and the grace God has given us.

Lord, help me recognize the gifts You have entrusted to me and use them in service of others. May I always preserve the saltiness of love, so that my life may add a touch of goodness, beauty, and hope to the world, drawing others closer to You. Amen.

NIỀM VUI CỦA NGƯỜI BIẾT LẮNG NGHE

"Đám người đông đảo nghe Đức Giê-su cách thích thú."

Điều đáng chú ý trong Tin Mừng hôm nay là phản ứng của đám đông. Họ thích thú khi nghe Ngài.

Người ta thường thích nghe những điều dễ hiểu, dễ chấp nhận, thuận tai và phù hợp với suy nghĩ của mình.

Nhưng Đức Giêsu lại giảng dạy điều phức tạp: Đấng Kitô không chỉ là Con vua Đavít, mà còn là Chúa của Đavít.

Vậy mà đám đông vẫn thích thú lắng nghe.

Đức tin không bắt đầu từ việc biết tất cả về Thiên Chúa, nhưng từ niềm vui được tiếp tục khám phá Ngài.

Một tâm hồn còn biết ngạc nhiên trước Lời Chúa là một tâm hồn còn trẻ trung trong đời sống thiêng liêng.

Ngược lại, khi nghĩ rằng mình đã biết đủ, người ta dễ đóng lại trước những điều mới mẻ mà Thiên Chúa muốn mặc khải.

Đám đông thích thú vì họ để cho Đức Giêsu dẫn mình đi xa hơn những hiểu biết cũ.

Còn chúng ta, sau nhiều năm đọc Tin Mừng, liệu chúng ta còn cảm thấy vui khi lắng nghe Chúa nói? Hay Lời Chúa đã trở thành điều quá quen thuộc đến mức không còn chạm được vào tâm hồn mình nữa?

Lạy Chúa Giêsu, xin gìn giữ nơi con một trái tim luôn biết ngạc nhiên trước Lời Chúa. Xin đừng để con tự mãn với những điều mình đã biết, nhưng luôn khao khát tìm kiếm Chúa nhiều hơn, để mỗi ngày con lại khám phá thêm vẻ đẹp và sự phong phú vô tận của tình yêu Ngài. Amen.

📖 Mark 12:35–37

THE JOY OF LISTENING

"The large crowd listened to Him with delight."

What stands out in today's Gospel is the reaction of the crowd. They listened to Jesus with delight.

People usually enjoy hearing things that are easy to understand, easy to accept, pleasing to the ear, and in line with their own way of thinking.

Yet Jesus was teaching something far more profound: the Christ is not only the Son of David, but also David's Lord.

And still, the crowd listened with delight.

Faith does not begin with knowing everything about God. It begins with the joy of continually discovering Him.

A heart that can still be amazed by God's Word is a heart that remains young in the spiritual life.

On the other hand, when we think we already know enough, we can easily close ourselves to the new things God wishes to reveal.

The crowd listened with delight because they allowed Jesus to lead them beyond their old understanding.

What about us? After many years of reading the Gospel, do we still find joy in listening to the Lord's voice? Or has His Word become so familiar that it no longer touches our hearts?

Lord Jesus, preserve in me a heart that never loses its sense of wonder before Your Word. Keep me from becoming complacent with what I already know. Instead, give me an ever-deeper desire to seek You, so that each day I may discover anew the beauty and boundless richness of Your love. Amen.

聆聽的喜樂

「群眾都喜歡聽祂講道。」

今天福音中最引人注目的，不是耶穌提出的問題，而是群眾的反應：他們喜歡聽祂講道。

人們通常喜歡聽那些容易理解、容易接受、順耳且符合自己想法的話。

然而，耶穌所講的卻是一個更深奧的真理：默西亞不只是達味之子，同時也是達味的主。

即使如此，群眾仍然樂意聆聽。

信仰並不是從認識天主的一切開始，而是從不斷探索天主的喜樂開始。

一顆仍然會因天主聖言而感到驚奇的心，是一顆在靈性生活中依然年輕的心。

相反地，當我們以為自己已經知道得夠多時，往往就會對天主想要啟示的新事物關上心門。

群眾之所以喜歡聆聽，是因為他們願意讓耶穌帶領自己超越原有的理解。

那麼我們呢？

經過多年閱讀福音之後，我們是否仍然喜歡聆聽主的聲音？還是天主的話語已變得太過熟悉，以至於再也無法觸動我們的心？

🙏 主耶穌，求祢保存我一顆常對祢的聖言感到驚奇的心。不要讓我因自以為已經明白而自滿，卻賜給我一份不斷尋求祢的渴望，好使我每天都能重新發現祢愛情的美麗與無限豐盛。阿們。

Tôi đang sống cho điều gì?
Sống để được sống


Những người Xađốc đến với Chúa Giêsu không phải để tìm kiếm sự thật. Họ muốn chứng minh rằng chuyện sống lại là điều vô lý. Họ đưa ra một tình huống rất phức tạp về người phụ nữ có bảy đời chồng để chế giễu niềm tin vào sự phục sinh.

Nhưng Chúa Giêsu không đi vào chi tiết của câu chuyện. Người khẳng định rằng:

"Thiên Chúa không phải là Thiên Chúa của kẻ chết, nhưng là của kẻ sống."

Thiên Chúa là Đấng hằng sống.

Nhiều khi chúng ta vẫn tin có sự sống đời đời, nhưng lại sống như thể mọi sự sẽ kết thúc ở đời này. Ta lo tích lũy, lo giữ lấy, lo sợ mất mát. Ta bám víu vào những gì rồi sẽ qua đi, như thể đó là cùng đích của cuộc đời mình.

Nhưng, cái chết không phải là dấu chấm hết. Và sự phục sinh cũng không phải là sự kéo dài cuộc sống hiện tại. Mà là lúc ta bước vào một tương quan trọn vẹn với Thiên Chúa, nguồn mạch mọi sự sống.

Trong Nước Trời, các tương quan không mất đi, nhưng được hoàn thiện. Người ta không còn cưới hỏi hay sinh con nữa, nhưng tình thân, tình nghĩa và tình yêu sẽ được nâng lên một bình diện mới, trọn vẹn và bền vững trong Thiên Chúa.

Các thánh tử đạo Uganda đã hiểu điều đó. Các ngài chấp nhận mất mạng sống trần gian vì biết rằng sự sống đích thực không ai có thể cướp mất. Họ hi sinh tất cả, nhưng lại được tất cả, vì họ thuộc về Đấng là Sự Sống.


Hôm nay, chúng ta hãy suy ngẫm: Tôi đang sống cho điều gì?

Chỉ khi gắn bó với Đấng Hằng Sống, cuộc đời chúng ta mới thực sự là một hành trình sống để được sống.

🙏 Lạy Chúa, xin đừng để con sống chỉ cho những gì sẽ qua đi. Xin cho con biết bám chặt vào Chúa là nguồn sống đích thực, để ngay từ hôm nay con được nếm hưởng trước sự sống đời đời mà Chúa hứa ban. Amen.

Mark 12:18–27

What Am I Living For?
Living in Order to Truly Live
The Sadducees came to Jesus not to seek the truth, but to prove that the resurrection was absurd. They presented a complicated case of a woman who had seven husbands in an attempt to mock the belief in life after death.

But Jesus did not get caught up in the details of their story. Instead, He proclaimed a profound truth:

"He is not God of the dead, but of the living."

God is the Living God.

Many of us believe in eternal life, yet we often live as though everything ends in this world. We strive to accumulate, to hold on tightly to what we have, and we fear loss. We cling to things that will eventually pass away, treating them as though they were the ultimate purpose of our lives.

Yet death is not the end. Nor is the resurrection simply an extension of our present earthly life. Rather, it is the moment when we enter into perfect communion with God, the source of all life.

In the Kingdom of Heaven, our relationships are not erased but brought to fulfillment. People will no longer marry or be given in marriage, yet the bonds of affection, friendship, and love will be transformed and perfected in God, becoming complete and everlasting.

Saint Charles Lwanga and his companions understood this truth. They willingly gave up their earthly lives because they knew that no one could take away the life that comes from God. They surrendered everything, yet gained everything, because they belonged to the One who is Life itself.

Today, let us reflect:

What am I living for?

Only when we remain united to the Living God does our life become a true journey of living in order to truly live.

🙏 Lord, do not let me live only for the things that pass away. Help me to cling to You, the source of true life, so that even now I may begin to taste the eternal life You have promised. Amen.

Mark 12:13–17

To Whom Do We Belong?

Jesus does not simply answer a question about taxes. Instead, He asks a much deeper question: “To whom do you belong?”

The coin bore the image of Caesar, and so it belonged to Caesar. But each one of us bears the image of God. If that is true, then to whom do we belong if not to God?

“Give back to God what belongs to God.” Everything we have is a gift from Him, and we ourselves belong entirely to Him.

Often, we are fair—even generous—with others and with the pleasures of this world, yet we become stingy when it comes to the things that rightly belong to God: our time, our love, our gratitude, our obedience, and even the talents He has entrusted to us. We bear the name of Christians, but at times we live as though we belong more to the world than to the Lord.

The way we live reflects the one to whom we belong.

May our lives reflect the beauty of God's love. May we become living mirrors of His goodness, so that through our words, our actions, and our way of life, the world may recognize that we truly belong to Him.

Chúng ta thuộc về ai?

Đức Giêsu không chỉ trả lời một câu hỏi về thuế má. Ngài đặt lại một câu hỏi sâu xa hơn: “Anh thuộc về ai?”

Đồng tiền mang hình ảnh của Xêda nên thuộc về Xêda. Còn mỗi người chúng ta mang hình ảnh của Thiên Chúa. Vậy chúng ta thuộc về ai nếu không phải là Thiên Chúa.

"Trả lại cho Thiên Chúa những gì thuộc về Thiên Chúa." Bởi lẽ, mọi sự chúng ta có đều là quà tặng của Ngài, và chính chúng ta cũng thuộc trọn về Ngài.

Nhiều khi chúng ta rất sòng phẳng, thậm chí là hào phóng với người đời, với những cuộc vui, nhưng lại keo kẹt những điều đáng lẽ phải thuộc về Thiên Chúa: thời gian, tình yêu, lòng biết ơn, sự vâng phục, hay cả những tài năng Ngài ban. Chúng ta mang danh là Kitô hữu, nhưng nhiều lúc lại sống như thể mình thuộc về thế gian hơn là thuộc về Chúa.

Cách chúng ta sống phản chiếu nơi/Đấng mà chúng ta thuôc về. xin cho cuộc sống của chúng ta phản chiếu vẻ đẹp của tình yêu Thiên Chúa.

  Cách chúng ta sống phản chiếu Đấng mà chúng ta thuộc về. 

Xin cho cuộc đời chúng ta trở nên tấm gương phản chiếu tình yêu của Thiên Chúa, để thế gian nhận ra rằng chúng ta thực sự thuộc về Ngài.

Monday in the Ninth Week of Ordinary Time A
Mark 12:1–12



The wicked tenants in the parable reflect ourselves. Like them, We, too, have often rejected God's love.



God has entrusted us with countless gifts: life, faith, family, and many opportunities to bear the fruits of love. Yet so often we live as if we were the owners of our lives, forgetting that everything is a gift from Him.



What is most striking in this parable is not the wickedness of the tenants, but the patience of the landowner. Even when people repeatedly turn away from Him, God never ceases to love. He continues to wait with unwavering patience and mercy.



Every sin is a rejection of God's love. Yet His mercy remains, always ready to welcome, forgive, and heal us. No matter how many times we fail, His love is greater than our sins.



We are sinful tenants, but God never grows weary of loving us. His patience is an invitation to conversion, and His mercy is our hope.



Prayer

Lord, we are the sinful tenants of Your vineyard, yet You never stop loving us with patience and mercy. Grant us the grace to repent sincerely, to return to You with humble hearts, and to become faithful stewards of all that You have entrusted to us. Amen.

THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY

The Solemnity of the Holy Trinity emphasizes unity, community, and love.

Building on this theme of unity, St. Paul, in his second letter to the Corinthians, urges us to mend our ways, encourage and agree with one another, live in peace, and let God’s love and peace dwell among us.
He calls for unity and harmony.

Similarly, this call for unity brings us to Pope Leo XIV, who repeatedly advocates for peace across continents and addresses people worldwide.
His desire is for unity to be realized.
This unity must first be lived out in community.

St. Augustine writes: “In creating man and woman in his own image and likeness, God created them for communion.
God the Creator, who revealed himself as Love, as Trinity, as communion, called them to enter into intimate relationship with himself and into interpersonal communion, in the universal fraternity of all men and women.”
Moreover, it is love that brings us to live in unity and harmony in the community.

St. John reminds us in his Gospel: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”

As we celebrate this Trinity Sunday together, let us consider that we are called to be united in the community and to love one another as brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Let us glorify God as we say: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
