Let’s be real here, Nurses and doctors have
long been “famous” or I would like to say “notorious” for their coffee consumption
since back in the day.
.
So does that make coffee an ironic indulgence
and an unhealthy habit? Well, it doesn’t address
the effect on our pearly whites, lol but sipping
on your favorite coffee brew may be one of the safest performance-enhancing drugs for us @CardiacStrong Nurses.
.
So if you’re addicted to coffee ☕️ remember
it helps increase your alertness and increases
your response time.
.
Lastly, since it’s a stimulant, caffeine does
reduce your appetite due to a slight speed in
our metabolism which helps curb our appetite.

Snow blowers aren't no
joke my fellow NurseBrothers
and NurseSisters. Each year
around the world people
suffer amputations and
mutilating injuries of their
hands from improperly
using a snow blower.
.
The small piece of rapidly
turning metal in the exit
chute is what causes most
injuries like this one seen
here in this post. But due
to the high severity of
damage they were unable
to salvage the 3rd & 4th
phalanges.
.
Therefore, they trimmed
the bone down to the
knuckle and sutured it.

9pm all refreshed and finished drinking
coffee while assessing your pt &
administering meds.

1am is when the Docs do their rounds
& you still have enough energy to
knock out the bed baths.

4am is the time when you're almost
exhausted & you're coffee is not
even working at this point while
you're drawing up your patients
labs, titrating IV meds & cleaning
a code brown.
Then suddenly by..
.
7am you're trying your hardest to
stay awake charting and documenting,
while waiting for the upcoming nurse to
give report.

Literally throwing that middle finger up displaying what a degloving soft-tissue injury looks like. These types of injuries require early recognition, and early management.
.
Therefore a multidisciplinary approach is usually needed to ensure the effective rehab of these patients. This is a degloving accident from a pt who had a ring on his finger that got caught on a fence as he jumped off it.
A degloving injury is a type of avulsion in which an extensive section of skin is completely torn off the underlying tissue, severing its blood supply.
.
Typically, degloving injuries affect the extremities and limbs. Any injury which would induce degloving of the head or torso is likely to be lethal. However, controlled facial degloving is often featured in plastic surgery.
.
Degloving injuries invariably require major surgical interventions. Treatment options include replantation or revascularization of the degloved skins, or when these are not possible, skin grafts or skin flaps. While the preservation of the extremities and limbs is normally preferred, in some cases amputations may be advised or required.
.
This is why I LOVE BEING A REGISTERED NURSE staying @cardiacstrong❤️💪🏽 with so many specialties because this patient upon admit was seen from an Emergency Nurse and headed straight to the operating room with Operating Nurses. After the surgical procedure was completed then this patient was recovered by the Post Op Nurse & once fully recovered transferred to a Medsurg Nurse.
So you better go #TAG that Nurse & show them LOVE.
