I’m writing this through tears, and I’m not even going to pretend otherwise.

Dark Asia is the proudest thing I have ever built in my entire life.
Three years ago, I quit my journalism job to do this. And when I did, I heard it all. That I was making a mistake. That creating content was a step down from “real” journalism. That I was throwing away my career. Some of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever heard came from the people I used to work with.
And now, here I am. Without any of them. With all of YOU.

One million people who care. One million people who show up for the victims, for the truth, for the stories that get buried or ignored. One million people who understand that justice and the betterment of society always follow the darkness that took place first. That’s not a step down from anything. That’s everything.
You didn’t just subscribe to a channel. You built a community with me. One rooted in empathy, in wanting to see justice, in believing these stories matter.
I promise I’m not going to slack off. I know you’re waiting. I know you care. And I will keep showing up for you the way you’ve shown up for me.

I’ve got some exciting news to share! I’m currently a full-time content creator — and I’ve decided to take a big leap and start a new adventure as a digital nomad!
And guess what? My family and I have picked our very first destination… MALAYSIA!!

I’ve always wanted to explore more of Asia (you know I’m a proud Asian🫶🏼), and we thought Malaysia would be the perfect place to begin this journey.
