The suspect charged with shooting to death the UnitedHealthcare chief executive on a Manhattan street has waived his extradition to New York.
Luigi Mangione's decision to waive his extradition clears the way for his imminent return to New York though it's not known when he will face a judge there. He could appear in state court for arraignment Thursday afternoon or Friday.
Numerous law enforcement sources say the plan as of now is to file federal criminal charges against Mangione in New York Thursday.

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi was taken to a Luxembourg hospital Friday after she hurt herself during an event marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Bulge.
The nature of the injury and how it occurred weren't immediately clear.
