Meggie
she/her/hers

Equal parts playful and earnest, indie pop singer-songwriter Meggie writes bittersweet songs you’ll be humming the next day. Her lyrics highlight underrepresented stories––such as platonic love, friend breakups, and queer joy––complete with micro details and macro revelations, that feel like a late-night conversation with friends. Working from New Haven Connecticut, Meggie elevates these songs with her warm, shimmery, sometimes eclectic production style. A biromantic asexual woman, Meggie writes with representation in mind, aiming to fill a gap in an industry that fixates on romantic love songs and breakup songs. Compared to Gracie Abrams, Lucy Dacus, dodie and Taylor Swift, fans love Meggie’s “air of positivity and confidence.” On stage, Meggie touches crowds with her warm, bubbly banter and ability to rally even first-time listeners to sing along. Meggie is currently pitching her songs to film and TV music supervisors and building a fan base with national tours on the horizon.

Time for a life update! The big news (aside from “She Doesn’t Know” coming out) is that Corinne moved in!!! You may know her as my co-director for the “Epilogue” and “Tell Me Summer Never Ends” music videos, or as my travel companion when I visited Nashville last spring, but she’s also one of my best friends, so living together is such a blast. 😊

Last weekend, I got to celebrate the new Taylor Swift album (SO GOOD!!!) with my friend Linda––my first time ever sharing release night with a fellow Swiftie! This week, the whole album is stuck in my head all at once. It’s just a constant rotation of song clips looping through my fangirl noggin.

(Going out of chronological order here, but) a few weeks ago, I visited my old college campus to make…something you’ll see soon…😏 with some budding [creative people but I won’t say what they do because I want it to be a surprise]. I also got to see some old friends for the first time in far too long, and somehow I RAN INTO a friend who doesn’t even go to that college!?! Lots of weird synchronicities like that lately :)

Later this month, I’m attending a conference where college reps will be looking to book musicians on their campuses. The conference chose me to showcase (yay!!) by performing for up to 4 hours each day. I might have to go on vocal rest afterwards, and my callouses are gonna be thicker than ever lol…but I’m so excited to meet lots of people and hopefully book lots of gigs. If you’re in college, comment your school and I’ll see if I can book something on your campus! When I’m not performing at the conference, I’ll be displaying my music in a big booth, so right now I’m collecting decorations for it––colorful LED lights, the chalkboard I bring to all my gigs, some fairy lights, and three huge posters of my face 😂 (people need to know who I am even if they walk by when I’m not standing there).

At 11:45 AM on Saturday 10/18, I’m playing at the Glastonbury Apple Harvest & Music Festival in Connecticut for my third or fourth consecutive year. It’s a BIG EVENT with carnival rides, food trucks, a 5K race, and music all day. If you’re in the area, come stop by! It’ll be my first gig since releasing “She Doesn’t Know,” so this is our first opportunity to sing it together. ☺️

Somehow I have pictures of basically none of this ^ lol, so here’s a shot I love but never posted, taken back in April by Jason Dube’. And a cute caterpillar because why not.

Let me know something exciting/joyful in your life right now in the comments. I love hearing from y’all!

If you’re new here, welcome! My name is Meggie (she/her), I’m an indie singer-songwriter, and I’m so glad you’re here. 😊 I love writing songs that describe often-overlooked but universal stories—like platonic breakups and queer joy—with the gravity of romance and heartbreak…but also with a dash of playfulness. 😉 You can follow the link in my bio to hear my music on your platform of choice. When I’m not on the indie artist grind, I like crafting extravagant Halloween costumes and watching Heartstopper with my friends.

BIG NEWS – the short documentary about my music is OUT NOW, right here on YouTube.

My friend Sophia Anderson — who’s not only a wonderful human but also a wildly talented director and editor — offered to make this film last fall, and I immediately started digging up footage of the school talent show (age 6), unreleased songs, and many other gems that you’ll find in the doc. 😉 Since then, Sophia has worked so hard and so generously, making sure she told my story in the most authentic, heartfelt way possible.

It’s only 11 minutes long, so go give it a watch now 🙃 And if you do, please leave Sophia a kind note in the comments.

Happy watching! 🍿
