According to reports, India is preparing to place its largest-ever military drone order, with plans to procure more than $2 billion worth of drones from domestic manufacturers.
The proposed purchase is aimed at strengthening the armed forces' surveillance and strike capabilities, with deliveries expected over the next 18–24 months.
The move reflects lessons learned from recent conflicts, including clashes with Pakistan and wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, which have highlighted the growing importance of drones in modern warfare.
The procurement is also expected to boost India's domestic defence manufacturing sector.
According to reports, a Delhi University assistant professor was found murdered inside her apartment in East Delhi’s Vasundhara Enclave.
The victim, identified as Debosmita Paul, lived alone and was discovered by her sister after repeated phone calls went unanswered. Police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation.
Initial findings reportedly suggest there were no signs of forced entry, leading investigators to suspect that the attacker may have been someone known to the victim.
