December 5 marks the opening day of the Krampus–Percht festivals, known as Krampusnacht. On this night, in the small mountain towns of Austria, the Krampus creatures take to the streets wild, terrifying figures carrying within them the echo of ancient pagan rites. This tradition, rooted in pre-Christian times, has been reborn in recent years, drawing people from all over the world.
I was fortunate enough to witness this celebration many times during my stays in Austria. Thanks to Aramath from Woodtemple, I became a part of this tradition, I was able to film and photograph the night processions of the Krampus as they wandered through snow-covered villages hidden deep in the mountains. From this material, I have been assembling a para-documentary film featuring unreleased Lord Wind music. The work is progressing slowly, but I know that one day this project will finally see the light of day. :-)
It was these dark, wintry encounters with the Krampus that inspired the Graveland music video for the track “Lodowy Labirynt” (“Ice Labyrinth”). I wanted to merge a raw, pagan atmosphere with an epic, almost mythic narrative a classic confrontation between good and evil, where a lone warrior or hunter crosses frozen mountains in pursuit of a sinister Krampus.
The video was filmed with the support of a Krampus group from Steyr, with Aramath operating the camera and occasionally assisted by his wife Sylwia. The final editing and assembly were done by D R SILESIA.
The finished video presents dynamic scenes of Krampus figures moving through winter landscapes, interwoven with shots of a solitary warrior lost in an icy realm. The stark color palette, dominated by black and white, reminiscent of Black Metal aesthetics even though the track itself is more of a musical experiment, moving partially away from Black Metal toward a more folk-metal direction, perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the “Ice Labyrinth.” Snowy forests, mist, mountain passes, and frozen formations appear throughout the footage, forming a visual narrative that harmonizes with the music and strengthens its Nordic-pagan character.
It is a cold, cinematic journey into a world where the spirit of ancient folklore meets the epic vision of Graveland.

The cover of “Thunderbolts of the Gods” appears like a vision torn from the oldest cosmic myths monumental, saturated with divine power and apocalyptic beauty. At its center rises the mighty silhouette of a Nordic god, lifting his hammer toward the heavens as he summons thunder and rends the sky with his wrath. His semi-material, astral form towers over the entire landscape like a guardian of ancient knowledge and cosmic order, existing beyond time and space.
At the foot of this vision stretches a colossal metropolis at first glance reminiscent of mythical Asgard or the sunken Atlantis, yet in truth serving as an allegory of modern “imperial” megacities such as New York or Dubai. A city of towers reaching for the heavens, built from monumental structures and geometric forms, symbolizing the arrogance of a technological civilization rushing toward its own inevitable fate.
Lightning bolts fall from the heavens like divine spears, illuminating this scene as a herald of transformation, a moment in which the spiritual and mythical world, long forgotten by humankind, once again collides with our reality. It is the instant when the Gods return as judges to determine the fate of civilization: to bring fire and destruction, or the light of wisdom and a new beginning leading toward harmony permeating the entire universe.
This cover is not a mere illustration.
It is a prophecy. A symbol of the clash between ancient powers and modernity, a reminder that even the greatest cities of concrete and glass may be silenced by a single thunderbolt of the Gods.

In some parts of Poland, the first snow is already falling. Unfortunately, in my city it has become a rarity in recent years, to experience moments like these, you have to travel far. Yet the winter aura, snow and ice have always been one of the primordial elements of Unholy Black Metal. I still remember how, during the recording of “The Celtic Winter”, on our way to the studio we walked through a park where the trees bent under the weight of heavy snow, and white and grey ruled over the world. That atmosphere, steeped in cold and the raw spirit of winter, still lives in my memory. These moments stay forever.
Just arrived at No Colours Records – the long-awaited Picture LP of “Thousand Swords”! 💀 Limited edition, only 200 copies available!
Originally released in 1995, this legendary album, one of the most important milestones in Graveland’s history, now appears for the first time as a Picture LP! A true relic from the era when Pagan Black Metal was forged in fire, echoing the spirit of ancient warriors and forgotten battles.
🔥 At the Pagan Samhain Night 🔥 Tonight the veil between worlds grows thin… The fire burns in the heart of the forest, where ancient spirits awaken once more. Under the watchful eyes of the ancestors, we gather to celebrate the end of the harvest and the rise of winter’s reign, the time of darkness, reflection, and rebirth.
Steel gleams in the firelight, old runes whisper in the smoke. This is the night when the living and the dead walk side by side when forgotten gods return from the mist of ages.
May your spirit walk proudly through the shadow and may the flame of your ancestors guide you through the long nights to come.
At the Pagan Samhain Night… the old fire still burns!
