How to make better people decisions:
→ Who to hire
→ Who to promote
→ When to let someone go
→ How to build a team that performs without you in the middle
I'm Konstanty Sliwowski, founder of School of Hiring. 3x founder. 2x bootstrapped exits. Former board member. 12,000+ interviews and 1,000+ hiring decisions across 100+ companies in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East.
What I've learned: business is people and people problems are almost never people failures. They're design failures. And design can be fixed.
For founders, business owners, and executives running companies of 20 to 250 people. Weekly videos on hiring the right people, interview questions that reveal how someone thinks, handling underperformers, and building teams that perform without constant intervention.
No HR theory. No jargon. Just business.

You don’t see things as they are.
You see them as you are.
That’s the problem with hiring.
You think you're evaluating candidates objectively.
But you're not.
You're seeing what you you want to see:
→ Confidence as competence
→ Familiarity as culture fit
→ Shared background as potential
It feels like instinct.
But it's usually just bias in disguise.
This is why structured hiring matters.
Because without a clear system,
even smart people make cloudy calls.
What you need isn’t more intuition.
It’s structure.
→ Clear role outcomes
→ Well planned interview flows
→ Aligned scorecards
→ Interview questions that surface real evidence
→ Debriefs that filter out noise
Hiring isn’t about spotting the “right” person.
It’s about defining what “right” actually means before you start.

Most hiring problems don’t start with candidates.
They start with leadership.
If you’re struggling to hire (or keep) the right people,
the issue might not be the talent.
It might be you.
I’ve been there.
⇨ I’ve built two companies.
⇨ Sat in boardrooms during M&A.
⇨ Led post-merger integrations.
⇨ Hired 1,000+ people.
⇨ Interviewed over 12,000 candidates.
And I’ve made my share of hiring mistakes.
But then I saw the pattern (and started fixing it).
Today, I’m sharing 5 leadership habits that sabotage hiring before the first interview even happens.
They cost me great people.
They might be costing you, too.
Small habits.
Big consequences.
Compound impact.
Swipe to uncover the 5 hidden hiring blockers.
Fix the habits.
Watch your business take off.

You don’t need the “best person” for your team.
Here's how I learned this the hard way:
I used to think hiring was about finding "the best"
And then I made three wrong hires in a row.
Ouch!
Each one looked great on paper.
→ Skills
→ Eduction
→ Great companies
→ Tenure
It was all there.
Yet, none of them worked out in the role.
Why?
→ I hired based on what they’d done not what I needed them to do.
→ I didn’t define what success looked like in 𝘮𝘺 company.
→ I focused on skills instead of outcomes.
I am sure they were "the best" at what they did they just weren't "right" for what I needed to be done.
The result?
Costly mistakes that slowed down my business
(and nearly cost me my team).
If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.
But you don’t have to keep repeating the same mistakes.
I've been invited by 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, one of the largest professional learning platforms in the US, to lead a live workshop on how to avoid these hiring problems.
