Today is all about adjusting the in-game nights and creating a list of locations I’m gonna need. Most likely, many of those are already present in the game world, but I’m afraid I’m gonna need to manually create a few as well. I really didn’t want to do that. Oh well. Beyond that, I also need to make sure I’ve perfected a backup method that will secure any progress made if my PC burns out. I’m spending way too much time on this project for it to just disappear into the void 😒
Ok, so I have realized a couple of things today. First of all, my pilot episode is not going to be a one-time thing. It’s still the pilot, but I’ve decided to go all in on this. That also means that the foundation (e.g., the implementation of the correct mods, etc.) needs to be done well enough for me to do whatever I want. In other words, I’ll most likely have to spend an entire week adjusting the chosen engine, and then I can get to my next project. Also, it’s going to be entirely different in terms of the storyline and the world. I’m using a game engine, but the world, the story, and the lines are mine (my third novel, to be more precise). Everything is mine, including the voice. I’m slowly getting giddy again. Cheer <3

For this experiment, I need to make more or less everything on my own. Wish me luck. Later today (around 11 AM EST), I get to be carried in Nightreign (on Twitch), and I’ve been promised my first actual W. I expect great things from my teammates.
The upcoming pilot is going to be heavily dependent on modding. Anyone know the best way to learn the basics without having to get a phd in computer science? 😏

So I’ve received my first commissioned Twitch sub emote. I had two specific elements in mind when I asked for this: first, this lovely painting, and second, the grumpy attitude from Parks & Recreation. Lo and behold 🙂
Last day of the year! What a ride, Jesus! The upcoming (and final) episode has now been recorded, and today I’ve begun writing the script. The final version will be ready within one or two weeks and will conclude the adventures of our unnamed protagonist and narrator. It’s not going to be the end as such, but his journey into the DLC will most likely be a year or two away. I need a break and time to process the insane thing I’ve done.
In the meantime, I’ll begin my new project and a couple of pilot episodes for an experimental series. For now, I only want to wish all of you a happy New Year’s Eve, wherever you are. This entire thing wouldn’t even have been one tenth as fun and rewarding without you. Much love ❤️
Alright, dear favorite people: In preparation for the upcoming (and final) episode, I’ve decided to make some changes to improve channel coherence. As most of you know, I’ve begun to stream on Twitch as well as on the small YT sister channel, and I’ve uploaded a few of the runs in edited versions. From now on, I’ll move those edited videos to the small channel instead, and keep my main channel dedicated to narrative experiments and series. I’ll continue streaming — it’s SO much fun — but I’d also like to have a more streamlined back catalogue, if that makes sense.
The next couple of months will be quite exciting for me, especially because I get to try out other things — shivers! The Tarnished will return to the DLC eventually, but I need a good ol’ break from it first. In two days, I’ll record the last episode... the suspense is real!
A small Christmas update from me to you. The next Tarnished episode is still in the works, with an ETA currently within a week or two. Let’s just hope I nail the last two entries ever. On another note, tomorrow I’ll upload something else entirely: a hyper-edited playthrough of Silent Hill 2 (EDIT: Out now) which I streamed on youtube.com/@dreadingmortality-streams. I’ve done edited runs before (like DS1), but this is something special — and a first-time experience for me, since the game is so story-driven. Truth be told, I’m really proud of it, and while it’s not the narrated RP run you’re all accustomed to, it might spark some joy for a couple of you.
Either way, have a merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and a happy New Year to each and every one of you ❤️
