Topic for me today, and something I've personally struggled with...
Criticism vs Disrespect...
If I like/support you...and most certainly, if I call someone a friend...my intention is never to blatantly be disrespectful or hurtful. I've learned over the years that, sometimes you can keep your opinions to yourself...not everything needs to be shared out loud or publicly. There's a lotta things on this platform, that some Creators do, or a way they run their channels, that ain't for me...But, I would never hop on a hate wagon to dog you out publicly...especially if I rock with you. Its an unrealistic expectation, to think that everyone is gonna like every single thing a Creator/Streamer on this platform does.
I always ask myself...'Am I saying this to help...OR...am I saying this to just feed my urge to be right?' Don't get me wrong...critiquing someone's choices or actions is sometimes warranted; but I truly always strive to construct my delivery in a way that won't publicly humiliate people I care about. I've learned that when a critique is delivered in a way that publicly or privately shames someone, its no longer about growth, its about Power. Some have to feel themselves on top of a moral authority soapbox...and that just aint for me. Especially when everyone else is already pointing out someone's flaws/mistakes/things they don't like about someone...a friends job isnt to join the mob for their own moral superiority...its to offer perspective and/or a safe haven.
So...remember that out here. Some things you're saying to/about someone who is very much so deserving of critiques...could be hitting a friend/someone you care for, in an unpleasant way...a way you would never intentionally want to do to a friend.
Also...some things are just taken wayyyyyy too seriously on here sometimes. I'm here to have fun, speak to awesome ppl, and maybe offer advice/a different perspective on things. Focusing on little things a streamer/creator does, that I personally dont care for...yeah, idc to do that. Run your channels how you like and fvck the noise!
