JAI MAA KOL KANDOLI

Everyone knows that Goddess Vaishno Devi resides on Trikuta mountain. But hardly anyone knows about the temple where the mother appeared as a 5-year-old girl. The name of this temple is Kol Kandoli Temple, which is in Nagrota, 14 km from Jammu city.

According to the legend, Mata Vaishno Devi appeared here (Kol Kandoli Temple) in the form of a 5-year-old girl. For about 12 years, the mother did penance at this place. After which the mother sat here in the form of a pindi. Here the mother fulfills all the wishes of her devotees by giving darshan to her devotees in the form of Swayambhu Pindi. It is also said that the mother used to play here in the form of a girl with the girls of the village. The villagers say that even today the mother comes here to play in the form of a girl.

Devi performed penance here for 12 years and performed yagyas for world peace. Mother Bhagwati has revealed silver bowls here 4 times and has given 36 types of food to lakhs of people. It is also said that when the mother hit the bowl on the earth to quench the thirst of the devotees, water started pouring out of the earth. Then people quenched their thirst by drinking water.

It is also said that during the Mahabharata period when the Padvas were in an unknown abode. Then he came to know about this temple. So the Pandavas had worshiped here for many years to please the mother. Pleased on which the mother gave darshan to the Padvas. And asked to build a temple here. Then the Pandavas had built the temple here in one night. You will be surprised to know that this night was of 6 months.

There is a Ganeshwari Jyotirlinga in the temple premises. It is said that during the construction of the temple, Bhima felt thirsty and started remembering his mother. Appearing in front of Maa Bhima, she told Bhima that there is no water system here. After this the mother went behind the temple and revealed a bowl, then this Jyotirlinga had appeared there. Then the mother said that where there is power, there must be Shiva.

There is a well in the temple, people drink their water to quench their thirst. People believe that drinking the water of this well removes all their sorrows.

Before starting the ascent of Trikuta mountain in the temple of Kol Kandoli Mata, the first darshan has to be done here. Only then the journey of Maa Vaishno is considered complete.

पहला दर्शन कोल कंडोली
प्राचीन सिद्ध पीठ माँ वैष्णो

माँ वैष्णो देवी त्रिकुट पर्वत पर विराजमान है यह तो सब जानते हैं। लेकिन शायद ही किसी को यह पता हो कि आज से लगभग 5 हजार वर्ष पूर्व माँ वैष्णो देवी का पहला दर्शन कोल कंडोली मंदिर में हुआ था। यह मंदिर कटरा से 14 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है।

माँ भगवती की उत्पत्ति माता वैष्णो देवी के रूप में कोल कंडोली मंदिर के आस-पास 5 हजार वर्ष पूर्व हुई थी। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार माता वैष्णो देवी ने कोल कंडोली में 12 साल तक तपस्या की थी। जिसके बाद माँ ने त्रिकुट पर्वत की ओर प्रस्थान किया।

कहा जाता है कि माँ वैष्णो देवी ने तपस्या के दौरान अपने भक्तों को दर्शन दिए और भक्तों की मनोकामनाएं पूरी की। इसी कारण कोल कंडोली को माँ का प्रथम दर्शन स्थल माना जाता है।

कहा जाता है कि जब माँ वैष्णो देवी त्रिकुट पर्वत की ओर जा रही थीं, तब माता ने कोल कंडोली में 5 वर्ष तक तपस्या की और 33 करोड़ देवी-देवताओं ने यहाँ आकर माँ के दर्शन किए। इस दौरान माँ ने भक्तों को दर्शन दिए।

कहा जाता है कि जब भैरवनाथ माता का पीछा कर रहा था तब माता ने पांडवों की सहायता से यहाँ विश्राम किया। पांडवों ने माँ के लिए यहाँ जल स्रोत बनाया और माँ की सेवा की।

यहाँ स्थित मंदिर में आज भी पांडवों द्वारा बनाया गया जल स्रोत विद्यमान है। माना जाता है कि इस जल से स्नान करने से सभी पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं।

मंदिर में प्रतिदिन श्रद्धालुओं की भारी भीड़ उमड़ती है। विशेष रूप से नवरात्रों के दौरान यहाँ विशेष पूजा-अर्चना की जाती है। भक्त दूर-दूर से यहाँ दर्शन के लिए आते हैं।

कोल कंडोली माता मंदिर में भंडारे का आयोजन नियमित रूप से किया जाता है। श्रद्धालु भंडारे में प्रसाद ग्रहण करते हैं और माँ का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करते हैं।
