Journey Through History
Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about updating the channel logo and banner, and before I make any changes, I wanted to get your input.
Do you like the current look? Is there anything you'd want to see changed, perhaps different colours, style, vibe? Or should I leave things as they are?
Below is a possible option I am considering.
I'd love to hear your thoughts before I commit to anything. Drop a comment below and let me know what you think!

Journey Through History
I can't believe it's been almost a year since I started this channel. Hitting 1,000 subscribers in about six months was honestly surreal, and now we're pushing toward 2,000. Thank you so much for being part of this journey.
I know it's been quiet lately, and I wanted to explain why. I recently had to leave Japan and relocate to a new country, which has been a huge adjustment between starting a new job and getting everything set up. On top of that, I'm supporting a family member who's dealing with some health issues right now.
That said, I'm not going anywhere. I'm committed to bringing you more content and constantly improving the quality of these videos. If you watched the latest one on Unit 731, you might have noticed I hired a professional voice artist. That's just one of the ways I'm trying to improve the video quality. Did you like the change?
What do you want to see in 2026? Ancient civilizations? Military history? Human evolution content? Different time periods? Let me know in the comments. I read every single one.
Alongside history, travel is a passion of mine. Travel content will likely move to a new channel in future so please stick around for that.

Taking a Short Break – Exciting Plans Ahead!
I’m just in the process of finalising two or three more videos, and then I’ll be taking some time off from YouTube to recharge. It’s been an amazing journey so far, but a little rest will help me come back stronger.
When I return, I’m planning to split the channel into three separate ones:
1) History – continuing our deep dives into myths, ancient civilizations, and fascinating historical events.
2) Travel – sharing unique destinations, cultural insights, and personal experiences.
3) Geopolitics – exploring current global issues and their historical roots.
I’ll also be looking to use my own voice or hire a professional voice artist for future videos to make them even more engaging.
I’d love to hear from you: What would you like to see more of when I return? Which of these three topics excites you the most? Drop your thoughts in the comments. Your feedback will help shape the next stage of the channel!
Thanks for all your support so far and stay tuned for the last few videos before the break!

Community Check-In – I Want to Hear From You!
Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for being part of Journey Through History. Whether you've been here since the first Japanese prefecture video or just discovered us through a myth or short, I'm truly grateful for your support.
I’d love to hear from YOU as I continue to grow and shape the channel together:
❓ What videos have you enjoyed the most so far?
❓ What hasn’t worked for you or felt a bit off?
❓ What kinds of videos do you want to see more of – deep dives? myths? travel-history guides? 60-second shorts?
❓ And what would you like to see less of (be honest, I can take it!)
Your feedback means the world to me and helps guide the direction of future content. Drop your thoughts in the comments below and let’s keep building something amazing together

Journey Through History
We’ve Hit 1,000 Subscribers!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
What started as a simple journey through Japan’s 47 prefectures—one video at a time—has now grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. We’re still not even halfway through Japan, but this channel has already branched out across time and borders. From the mythologies of the Philippines and Vietnam, to the rise and fall of empires in China, to the epic tales of Britain and the United States—Journey Through History is now truly global.
So far, it seems you’ve enjoyed:
The bite-sized humor in our YouTube Shorts
The mythological deep dives from Aztec gods to Japanese legends
The quirky and underrated travel guides that go far beyond Tokyo and Kyoto
But what else would you like to see next? More mythology? Modern history? Deep explorations of single battles or events? Tell me.
As we march toward the next goal—meeting the required watch hours to join the YouTube Partner Program—I’m considering opening channel memberships (does $3 sound reasonable?). If I did, would you want:
Early video access?
Bonus short videos?
A Discord server where we can chat about future topics directly?
Let me know in the comments or replies. This journey is just beginning, and I’m so grateful you’re walking it with me.

February 11th – Foundation Day in Japan! 🇯🇵🎌
Today is Kenkoku Kinen no Hi (建国記念の日), Japan’s Foundation Day, a national holiday celebrating the legendary founding of Japan by Emperor Jimmu in 660 BCE. This day honours the origins of the nation and the imperial lineage, which, according to mythology, stretches back to the gods themselves!
But who was Emperor Jimmu? Was he a real historical figure or a mythical hero crafted to unify Japan's identity? 🤔
Find out in my video: The Story of Japan’s First Emperor, Jimmu! 📺 Dive into the fascinating mix of legend, politics, and history behind Japan’s foundation and see how this story shaped the nation we know today.
Happy Foundation Day, Japan! 🎊 Have you ever celebrated this holiday? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️

🎥 Help Me Improve My Videos! 🎥
Hey everyone! I'm taking a short pause from creating new videos, partly due to illness, but also to focus on revamping my content and making it even better for you. Your feedback is super important to me, so I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Are my videos too long? What’s your ideal length? 15-20 minutes?
For prefecture videos, is the intro always necessary, or can I dive right in?
Are the thumbnails working for you?
Do you prefer an overview of the prefecture and the region in each video, or is that too much?
Should I keep including food and souvenirs, or would you prefer that content in region-wide videos?
Would you enjoy prefecture videos that focus only on history and travel, with food and omiyage covered elsewhere?
Bonus Question: Would you prefer separate videos for history, travel, food, and omiyage? Or one overall video that combines everything into a single package?
Let me know what you think in the comments! Your input will help shape the future of my videos and ensure they’re exactly what you want to see.
Thank you for your continued support—your feedback means the world to me. Let’s make these videos the best they can be together!
