I need your help. Once again, our public lands are under attack. As you all know, our wild spaces are where we find we are the most ourselves. The most alive. The most connected. The last time I shared the need to voice our defense for public land, you all more than rose to the occasion, so I am here once again, to ask for your help in defending the Roadless Rule. The Roadless Rule, which protects nearly 45 million acres of backcountry National Forests is on the chopping block. The Roadless Rule currently protects about one third of America’s National Forest land, including 8,659 climbing routes, 768 miles of whitewater paddling runs, and 25,121 miles of trails. But that is just the human perspective. That land also protects countless species of animals and the habitats that they rely on to live. Rescinding the rule would open the door to unnecessary logging, road construction, and development—threatening the outdoor experiences we treasure, precious ecosystems and undermining our greatest treasure, the legacy of America's public lands. The USDA is accepting public comments until September 19, and NOW is the time to speak up, follow the link in our bio to do so. Hey friends! Last week Owen and I completed the hardest hike we've ever done, and if we are being honest with ourselves its actually the hardest thing, period, that either one of us has ever done. It was one hell of a story and thankfully, cameras were rolling for the experience. If you'd like to get a preview of that story, which will hit YouTube in October, I will include the link to the Patreon post about it below. Aside from that I want to let you know a few other things that we have coming down the line...
1) Now that we are out of our series rotation, we will have a new video coming out each month. Last month was the Hilux tour! This month, September, we have a film about our first trip to Japan last fall! Patreon members will get access to a longer version of that film this weekend. YouTube will get a streamlined version next weekend, Sunday September 14th. Then this hike film will come out in October!
2) We will be announcing our next group trip in about a week and it is going to be 12 days in our NUMBER ONE bucket list destination. It hardly feels real it's so exciting! Group trips have been some of our most rewarding experiences since we started traveling full time. It's something that we've missed desperately these last few years and are over the moon to be putting our next one together.
