Companies use language that the average American can understand in their advertising but then make their Terms & Conditions written in a way only a lawyer can truly understand. We need to demand T&Cs be written at an 8th grade level at the highest. It needs to be clear if our work will be scraped and used for AI. It needs to be clear if there is going to be a change in how our private, personal data is used. Give us an opt in option rather than an opt out option. The government has made laws requiring the side effects of medication. We need similar requirements regarding the side effects of agreeing to your cookies. This isn’t about “it’s not real art” or trying to shame anyone or even fear mongering. This is an issue people on both sides can agree on. We pour our heart into our creativity and deserve be asked for our consent before letting an AI be trained with it. (You can’t claim that because it’s “just like artists being inspired by other artists” that it’s okay because machines don’t have the same rights as humans) If you trick us into agreeing, IT’S NOT CONSENT! Do you want your most personal emails and texts to be used by others? I love AI and i firmly believe if we work together we can create a symbiotic system for everyone. Just like the printing press required copyright laws to be made for it to be fair and just, we need consent laws. Real consent laws. And we need the AI community to stand with creatives to change the laws regarding privacy and consent! #artcommunity #aiartcommunity #dontscrape #deceitisnotconsent #AIBrosForConsent #iStandWithArtists
